Party City Corporation Fraudulent Billing Rockaway New Jersey
My wife reserved a helium tank for my kids birthday party. They required a credit card to reserve the tank. When I showed up to pick it up, naturally I bought some balloons and they charged me for the helium tank rental and the balloons.
At the end of the month, I questioned my wife about a charge at Party City, a week before the party and assumed it was other party supplies.
Hell no, when my wife reserved the tank they went ahead and charged it to the card, and then double charged me at the store.
When I brought it up to the store they said I had to talk to corporate. I recognised this run-around, so I called my CC company and disputed the charge. PC came back and said that they were two totally separate charges because they were different amounts.
Helium tank charge VS Helium tank charge + balloons. We explained this to the CC company and they agreed and responded to PC with this information, and listen to what they said......"The customer rented two helium tanks on two separate days, and by the way he did not return the second tank so he should be charged $100 for not returning the tank"
THERE WAS NO SECOND TANK!!!!! The guy at the CC company literally laughed on the phone!! And them promptly credited my account. Will never buy anything from PC for the rest of my life. And I am fairly young.
Don't support these type of business practices. Do not shop Party City.
