Buyers Beware of Paul LePlatte's Canaries in Raliegh, North Carolina.
Paul materialially mislead me into buying healthy purebred waterslager canaries for $230. I drove 5 hours each way to his office/store at:

and after choosing the canaries he promised I arrived home with different canaries that were not the waterslagers but unhealthy American Singer canaries that were very sick, had mites and almost killed all the other birds in the house!
I gave him the opportunity to reconcile that he refused and he has not responded to any communications!
Most canaries want a male canary that can sing and live happily with family, friends or older folks. The last thing anyone wants is an infestation of mites (the expenses associated with exterminating the whole house professionally is over $1,000), sick birds that can inflict all other pets or the bird dropping dead in front of an 8 year old child that wakes up excited to see his/her new bird.
Please consider spending your hard earned money/time by buying from a reputable breeder or PetCo/Petsmart or a bird store near you instead.
