People's Plumbing incompetent illegal ripoff Phoenix Arizona
When I queried the alt.home. repairs Internet newsgroup, they had me put on a new wax gasket and shim the toilet (like what the plumbers should have done) When the toilet still leaked, they asked me to put some red food coloring in the toilet bowl.
The next day I removed the little remaining water in the bowl and found that the actual problem was that the bowl was cracked
(as can be seen picture of the leak where the siphon jet meets the toilet base, apparently a poorly-repaired manufacturer's defect that sprung a leak as the toilet bowl aged ).
I feel that these people had no intention of attempting to repair my toilet, but just wanted to milk me and the home warranty company for a few bucks. I checked them out with the State of Arizona web sites, and their contractor's license has been yanked and their corporations registration has been yanked because they have no fixed address and no bond. They have a phone number listed in the Phoenix phone book ((623) 247-2420 ), but the phone number of the person who actually called me (as reported by caller ID) was 602-290-4825. Needless to say,
I can't recommend them even if they were simply incompetent rather than trying to rip me off -- they break the law every time they go out on a plumbing job (Arizona law requires contractors to be licensed with the state, and requires all people doing business in the state to register their business with the Secretary of State's office or the Corporations Commission).
