Matthew, I do find it a bit odd that you are upset over a bag of dog food and not the fact that you were sold a sick puppy. But anyway ... It sounds like you already received restitution for your inconvenience since it appears that you took that same bag of food to Petsmart and returned it there for a store credit. (No - I do not believe that it was a "similar bag" as you state, because no one buys TWO 18-lb bags of food for ONE puppy!) In closing -- there was NO rip off as far as the original complaint is concerned. One store accepts returns on food, and another store does not. Stores have the right to make their own policies, and it is YOUR responsibility to understand the return policy when doing business with a store.

To those who have purchased sick puppies from Pet Paradise: please contact NJ Consumers Against Pet Shop Abuse (NJCAPSA) at [email protected] or call 908-325-0333 to submit your complaint. We have more complaints against this store than any other in NJ. Pet purchasers have RIGHTS under the NJ Pet Purchase Protection Act (Puppy Lemon Law) and you are entitled to reimbursement of veterinary bills up to twice the puppy's purchase price, plus tax, if you have an unfit for sale certificate from your veterinarian. Don't fall prey to Pet Paradise's requirement to submit your bills to PET GUARDIAN in Jackson, NJ. It is registered to JOSEPH SANTANASTASIO, husband of Dana West, co-owner of Pet Paradise! It's their private warranty company and NJ laws supersede any so-called private pet health warranty. Many stores hide behind these bogus entities in an effort to circumvent the Puppy Lemon Law and delay your reimbursement. Please contact us if you haven't already. NJCAPSA will walk you through the complaint process, put you in touch with the proper agencies that regulate this store, and stay the course until you have been duly compensated. Thank you, Libby Williams NJCAPSA Working to end pet shop consumer fraud! www.njcapsa.org Email: [email protected] Phone: 908-325-0333

Do you all watch the news? There are several diffrent television stations that have undrcover reporters that track and expose bad bussineses like this pet paradise. There is 9 on your side, there is shame on you with arnold diaz and a slew of others. I wish someone would call Peta, and they could have a silent protest of sorts. i will contact them to see if there is anything that can be done. i've stood silent too long and puppy after puppy has died from this store. we need to take a stand somehow.

I am familiar with Pet Paradise, as my in-laws live in Manalapan (just off of Route 9 near the library) and bought a sick puppy from that place last year. The puppy ultimately died, and even though my brother-in-law works in the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, my father-in-law had a difficult time getting his money back from Dana West. They didn't ask my advice before buying that puppy, but if they had, I would have told them to look for a reputable breeder instead of patronizing a place that gets their puppies from puppy mills. I know for a fact that Pet Paradise (it should be called Puppy Hell) gets their puppies from filthy dirty puppy mills located in Pennsylvania and the Midwest (I have seen the invoices). These puppies are treated inhumanely, and they are usually sick. Many of them die from diseases such as Parvo. The only way to put the puppy mills out of business is to stop buying from pet store that buy their puppies from them.

This is the most unprofessional, unethical, and dysfunctional business that I have ever had to deal with. DON'T BUY A PET FROM THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS "AFTER" THE SALE, as they claim they do!
