I bought a brand new Philips 42 inch plasma tv in Dec of 2006.  Cost me 2,000.  I thought that the brand was good and I didn't need the extended warrenty....STUPID.  If I had know what junk they sell, I would never have purchased the tv.  It broke after 3+ years( I was lucky).  Called about the problem and the customer care team did nothing.  I then researched problems and came across thousands of posts about people with plasma tvs that just stopped working a few years after purchase and customer care that did nothing to help them out.  DO NOT BUY PHILIPS PRODUCTS.  THey are junk it will break in a year to 3 years.  Tell eveyone you know not to buy their products.  They are faulty and have poor quality parts.....
