 Dear All , i am expat in belgium and pidpa.be is a water provider here. The situation as follows : we have been paying the water bills by their 'estimate' by postal order, until we found out that according to a water metter we have actually overpayed and are in credit . Never the less, while we were away, the company have sent people to gigg the cement under our house and disconnect the water. We caught them when they already finished digging and the woman on the telephone said they will recalculate the bills. Fast forward, we are staying here without the water and they have sent us the invoices with some 'fines' as well as invoice for that cement digging, that we never requested or were aware off. The total is over 900 EUR. They are saying that without paying those invoices they won't reconnect the water, while in fact they are in credit with us according to water metres, they owe us for owerpayed bills ( 65 EUR) Now this is a clear blackmail and extortion as we have never requested nor cement digging, nor fines and we actually in credit. They told us that without paying fines and for outdoors cement digging we won't have the water and if we try to connect ourselves, we will go to jail. Please, in this century, what is exactly going on ? This is a day light rip off, blackmail and extortion by the water provider. So we are now waterless unless we pay almost a 1000 EUR with bills for services or products we didnt use .
