Pierce Group Atlanta Violation of Independent Contractor IRS/Wage & Hour Dept. of Labor rules and regulations; Slow/Inaccurate IC Payment Powder Springs Georgia
Well, today's date is April 4, 2016, and by looking at previous posts about this company, I can tell that very little has changed. They still do NOT pay on time; but, are using paper checks issued by the B*** *f A******, instead of PayPal, and are very elusive about how much they will pay for what project. Their attitude is that you take what they give and you have no say in what the pay for each file will be. They are extremely slow to pay, sometimes taking 8 - 9 weeks to pay for a transcribed file.
When you make inquiries, their email replies are aggressive and curt; and, there is very little correct information. The employee orientation booklet they send is NOT in agreement with what they tell you to do as a transcriber. Nor does it agree with what they state as their current business practices and protocols. They are in definite violation of the "master-slave provision" of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
As an IC for this company, there are specific IRS rules and guidelines that are being flexed, broken and violated. They are also in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and can/should be reported to both entities - IRS and the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division. While they may think they are beyond reproach and cannot be held accountable, I can assure you that they can be. Here's the address to send your certified letter to: Internal Revenue Service, P. O. But, before you do any/all of this, it might serve you well to send a certified letter to their office at: Pierce Group Atlanta, 6041 Burnt Hickory Trail, Powder Springs, GA 30127, stating your complaints and/or suggesting/demanding a remedy, complete with your demand-action response date. This company is definitely not what it represents itself to be. And don't forget to post here, as well. We all want to be updated as to their current business and employee-relations actual practices. I wish I had seen all of the posts here before I worked for them.
