RE: #27039528 PITRE BUICK-PONTIAC-GMC 6480 East McDowell Rd. Scottsdale, AZ. 85257

I contacted the corporate offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL. of Auto Nation who is a controlling interest in Pitre Dealerships and made them aware of my total displeasure with the treatment that I was afforded as a customer. I also Emailed Mr. Marc Cannon Vice President of Auto Nation so he is aware of the way some his dealerships are performing.

I was told that my credit inquiry was part of the Home Land Security Act/ Patriot Act and was a dealership policy to establish identity however neither the dealership nor the Arizona Attorney General were aware of such an explanation. Fred

Subject: Purchase of a new Hyundai Santa Fe

On 9/10/2004 (according to the purchase order) the actual date of insurance verification and verification of funds via a bank draft from Eastern Florida financial Credit Union was verified per telecom and sent over night. The VIN number KM8SC73E64U785845 the stock number HF3426 of the vehicle in question. The salesman a Chris Fontaine quit his position and I was referred to a General Sales Manager John Lloyd who was quite rude and otherwise obnoxious on the phone to me. The fact that I had arranged my own payment plans independent of the dealership, they still insisted on trying to shoe horn me into a contract with them. At no time did I ever sign a release to have them make an inquiry into my credit file therefore lowering my total score, but also they didn't go over any instructions so much as to how to even turn on the dome lights, or the climate control. I've contacted Hyundai U.S.A. to make them aware of this poor customer service issue. I feel that although each dealer is independently owned they should at the least display some sort of courtesy to their customers even though their only spending a mere $27113.36 on a new car!

MY NAME: FRED

ADDRESS : #############

PHONE :**********

1) Lack of courtesy during transaction of a sale

2) Even though financial arrangements had already been made dealer insisted on trying to finance vehicle without my permission.

3) No instructions given to purchaser (myself) as to how operate lights or wipers.

4) When confronting management about above issues I was rudely treated by a Mr. John Lloyd (the General Sales Manager) and as an evasion tactic I was deffered to the salesman Chris Fontaine who quit working for the dealership 2 weeks prior to my calling and given his cell phone number.

5) Un needed inquiry made into my Experian credit report which will remain on record for 2 years.

Many, if not all States, have a law stating that the State (Attorney General) can fine the party obtaining a credit report without authorization up to x number of dollars. I believe this amount is $2,500 in New Mexico (my home). So contact your State's Attorney General and lay out your case. The money the State fines the dealer is the State's money not yours, but you might feel some justice here. If you do follow this line, please post here with the results. Thanks
