PMI Remodeling & Repairs
Wellington,#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

We have just today been informed by a potential customer that this complaint was filed on this website & wanted to atleast give a response.
PMI has been in business as a family owned & operated home remodeling company for 27 years, we stand behind everything we do & the above complaint (even though a couple of items may be true - which we corrected) is over-exhaggerated, if you read the post many of the things don't even make sense.
We would assume that most people that read the complaint will already realize that the credibilty of it is questionable.
Just to touch on a couple of items:
Billing was not fraudulant, customer on almost a daily basis changed the scope of work via email or phone calls, wanting to add back items that she had wanted to hold off on or remove items that she had already agreed to. Honestly, we ended up doing some work for no charge bacause the owner said she verbally told us not to do it. Yes maybe a couple of items ended up being billed as a duplicate by mistake. These items were corrected.
PMI's basic minimum rate per hour is $65/hr & has been for the past 8 years, other rates go up to $85-$125/hr for plumbers, electricians, etc. not $45/hr as stated in complaint, $25 to $35 might be competative for an unlicensed/uninsured handyman.
Think about the comment "Insurance company estimate $245 to remove & install 10 sheets of drywall" - we are talking about 10 sheets (approx. 320 sq.ft. of drywall) that needs to be removed, disposed of, purchased new, installed, taped, textured & primed ready for paint (Materials alone would cost more than $24.50/sheet).
Damaged furniture - the customer wanted to discount our final invoice for the whole amount of the cost of some dining chairs that got a little drywall dust on the seat materials. We said that if she wanted a full credit then we would like the chairs, only fair in our opinion, but the customer wanted full credit & keep the chairs.
If anyone would like further explanation on any items we will be glad to explain, please contact us.
In conclusion, this matter did go to Small Claims court & we did agree to a discounted payment (PMI recived a check for an undislosed amount) & the case was closed.
We have thousands upon thousands of satisfied customers & we are upset that this type of unverified report would be allowed to be published.
