I have been employed by this company for awhile now, and I can tell you that PRA is not the 3rd largest collection agency in the nation because we rip people off. We are publicly traded on the NASDAQ and we all go through a month long training process. We are constantly trained in the FDCPA ( Fair Debt Collections Privacy Act). If you have a problem or questions about your account with PRA then you need to contact the rep that handles your account and solve the problem, not say that we are a rip off. I help people every day dealing eith no money, high gas prices, and everything else that goes along with the economy today and I have not had any complaints and when there is a complaint we handle it in a professional manner. Look us up at www.portfoliorecovery.com and you can contact us with any problems or questions

"Doing the right thing" with bottom-feeder, predators like Portfolio Recovery Associates is a bad idea. You're basically dealing with a barrel full of snakes....Always get written settlement agreements from debt collectors PRIOR to giving them your money. This should state exactly how much is to be paid AND it should state that your account will be settled/paid in full upon receipt of this amount. After getting this, pay ONLY via USPS money orders....NEVER give them your checking account # for auto debits.
