The Preferred Financial Services debt resolution company is very shady. I got their free consultation and in fact they had me sign a contract...tricked me inorder to give me their free consultation. Afterward when I had questions the agent did not know the answers and said I would have to put my inquiries in writting. Why couldn't she aske her "manager" as she forced me into talking to him the first phone call with me not knowing what was best for me. The coerced me into a contract, atleast I think I am in one. I told the lady that the bank info. on the mock contract is not good because I am closing the account this week-end she said that she don't need another contract because she has changed the dates and information herself.

Is this legal? I need a lawyer not a debt settlement at this point. Where is the government in regulating these preditors?

While looking for some help on a little bit of card debt, I came across Preferred Financial at 8669927400. I can't recall who I spoke with, though I did get a very good feel for how their program works and what the risk and rewards were. It is, from my understanding, a debt settlement company. They were very clear that my accounts would be falling behind in order to make the creditors settle with me. I'm not sure of the intelligence level you would really need in order to understand that while your bills are falling behind you are putting your credit at risk as well as risking being sued by a creditor. To me, this is obvious. I wouldn't expect a company selling knives to tell me that If I stab my self, I may bleed. Anyhow, I only owed slightly more than $4,000 so this was not something that would have helped me more than it hurt me. If I owed $40,000 I'm sure it would be a different story. I guess, looking at the ladies text again, she might not have been smart enough to figure things out on her own. If you are in that same department, stay away from companies on the internet.
