Professional Collection Consultants (PCC) stole money from me by winning a judgement by default. They did this by what is known as sewer service. Apparently someone added 3 phone lines to an account I had with Cingular without my knowledge (I don't know if it was my ex-wife or someone else) and did not pay anything for the added lines. This was in 2006 and the first time I found out about this when my employer sent me a wage garnishment order last year. I contacted the plaintiff PCC and told them I had no knowledge of this bill or of a jugdement being filed against me. The attorney assigned to my case Greg Lawerence told me they served me at an address I have never lived at and to a person I never even heard of!!!! They had already won a wage garnishment order against me and were going to start garnishing 25% of my net wages starting my very next check and every one after until I paid a total of $2250.81. I had no choice but to negotiate with their attorney to pay $100 per check. I am the sole provider of my family and I couldn't afford to pay 25% of my after tax wages to PCC. I ended up paying them about $725. I couldn't afford to pay them any more and they re-started the wage garnishment order. This time I am fighting back. I have hired a good attorney for a reasonable price and so far he has got the garnishment order stopped and we are working to get this judgement thrown out altogether and have the judgement taken off my credit report.
