Complaint Review: Psychic on 28th Street - New york New York

I was walking to the train from work in midtown when this woman called out to me and asked me about my 'medallion' around my neck.  Who uses that word today? Red Flag #1

**She told me about how I had lost love in my life etc etc etc...  She said she would give me a quick reading for $5. I agreed to sit with her because I was early for train and thought why not right?  

The reading was vauge and she was way off when she said I was phycially healthy but spiritually not. Meanwhile I have a chronic condition.  After I told her about my condition she proceeded to get all serious and told me to write down my first name and phone number and will contact me later that night about anything. So whatever I did. I paid the $5 and went on my way.

Later that night she contacts me to tell me about a family curse that originated with my father and a woman who loved him. She told me to meet her the next day for a reading.  I met her the next day for a reading and she told me she didnt charge for her services.  I met her at her apartment on 28th street after being stuck in NYC traffic! She offered me food but I said I was on a strict diet. To make a long story short...she told me I had two curses on my family...one with my father and the other with my grandparents.  She told me she would find out the source and everything..even sketches.  She actually said she could cure me and my family of all illness and stuff and that every three years something bad happens.  I had to put rose pedals, eye glasses and $180 in twenty dollar bills into a ziploc bag and carry it with as a shield.  She then told me to go home and put dirt from my house in it.  You know she said she didnt charge and said the money in the bag I would be able to take out later but for now I had to keep in the ziploc bag.  I said ok it can’t hurt..maybe shes right because it has been a rough year so I did what she said.  A few days later she tells me I have to multiply the $180 by 9 and put the cash in the ziploc bag or "shield"....  I dont have that money to just take out of my bank so i wrote a check to myself and put in the bag instead. $1800 total!

When I met with her the last time...she told me to take all the finances out of the bag..  Now remember she said prior that this money would be mine to keep but it was just in ziploc bag to represent finances.  I told her I had a check and not the actual cash and she got a little angry at me.  She said I needed all the cash to rip up with scissors and put back in bag...give to her so she can take it to her "church" and bury the evilness underground.  After a back and forth...she finally was like how much do you have in the bank then...  She then said she cant help me because I dont have this money.  I left...she later contacted me saying it will be ok and to meet again the next day. 

It is a crime to destroy money...also if you have all the parts of a ripped up money document..you can take it to the bank and get it replaced.  Now I was smart enough to walk away and didnt lose any money ... what a scam.  WOW just WOW. That is how she gets her money without "extortion" so to speak.  She tells people to rip it up..so someone not up to date with the law will think of the money as destroyed.  WRONG...the bank will replace it or you can mail to the Federal Reserve for a replacement.  DO NOT ENGAGE IN ANY CONVOS WITH PSYCHICS ON THE STREET OF NYC.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
