Complaint Review: Public Motors - santa ana California

Did you actually read anything I posted? I have posted NOTHING but evidence that this report should NOT be taken seriously. And since you feel the same way, if you insinuate I am a moron..then you must be one too.

Not to say I am perfect. I have certainly put my foot in my mouth on this website..by making the same mistake. Which is, leaving a comment from a report or reply without fully reading and comprehending what I was commenting about.

We can all note this report is from well over a month ago..and the OP has not responded to any replies. What does that tell everyone? Hoax comes to mind.

I said that a cracked head was rare, not as you misquoted me as saying it was "Common".

    I must have clicked on the wrong title I am not an employee. I just read these idiotic reports and can't believe people take them seriously. If this person actually had his/her tires and battery stolen why in the world did they leave without calling the police. It simply does not add up!!! God only knows what this person tried to get from this dealer and couldn't so now they are accusing them of everything under the sun. And the worst part is you morons actually believe them

     As for "Jim The master mechanic"  You have to be kidding me!!!   I have been in the car business all of my adult life (30 years) and have seen 100's of radiators split at the seam and never once was it from a bad head gasket or cracked head. It's called normal wear and tear on an eight year old car. This guy is an absolute Joke. I have NEVER and I repeat NEVER have seen a bad head gasket and a cracked head at he same time as he says often happens. Again this guy is a complete and absolute joke!!!

I agree the report does not add up..but how was my reply ridiculous?

All we have to go on is what the report says..

1) The radiator had a split seam (it lists no reason why, just it is split so I would assume a bad radiator)

2) The warranty company said they would not cover it since radiators are not covered.

3) Public motors said they would put in an engine from another car.

4) When the customer went to pick up the car the new tires, lock nuts and battery were gone.

The only thing I can conclude is either this report is a hoax..or that the report is actually ridiculous as why change an engine because of a bad seam on a radiator? I have owned plenty of older cars before where the radiator just needed replacement if it split and not a different engine.

As well..how did this customer drive off with no tires and no battery?

If this report is legit, seems quite a bit of information was left out. Anyone care to offer up the missing info?

the reason radiator splits are an excuse for replacing an engine is this.

Usually when a radiator splits it indicates a bad head gasket, or cracked cylinder head, often both.

Poor mechanics will not realise that this is fixable with either a new head gasket, or sometimes a new head (With new gaskets, of course) and take the easy way by simply replacing the entire engine, it's a much easier job, and pays about the same, so guess which gets done.

Theft should be immediately reported, the police called the instant you know you were robbed.

In fact, if you haven't called them already CALL RIGHT NOW.

As for the warranty, sue the s**t out of them for fraud, it IS an internal engine fault.

What was the reason to put in a new engine if there was a split seem on the radiator?

I am not trying in invalidate your report but it needs to make sense. This report is like saying your house needed the sink fixed so they replaced all the structural beams from another house because the faucet leak was not covered under warranty.

As far as the missing items such as the new tires, battery and wheel locks...yes, that I would have a problem with and damned if I would have left the premises unless by force if parts were stolen from my vehicle like that. Because once you leave the premises..how do you possibly prove these items were stolen/replaced by them?
