Purrfect Auto Repair Attempted ripoff of a stranded female Las Vegas Nevada
My wifes car overheated on a trip to Las Vegas on July 2 2003.
It was towed to Purrfect auto repair on Maryland pkwy because that was close to where she was staying. On the morning of July 3 she was informed by the shop manager Harold that the car had a leaking thermostat housing and would be ready at Noon. At 5pm one hour before the shop closed she called and they said it would be ready in a few minutes.
When she arrived Harold told my wife that the car had a cracked head and would need over $800 dollars in further work and should not be driven back to Tucson where we live. I make arragements to get to Vegas on the 4 of July and after checking over the car found no such need for any repair.
I stayed that nite and confronted Harold on Saturday morning, at which time he told me he would prove the car needed this work. the car sat in his shop for over and Hour running at high idle and never overheated. Harold then told me he was sorry and must have had a Miscommuication with his Mechanic and assumed that tests had been done to confirm this problem.
I fully beliveve that had I not confronted Harold that they would have taken total advantage of my stranded wife and done $800 dollars of unnessasary repairs to her car, which I drove home and have not had any trouble with.
