Report it here, and the FTC.

Bman, you state in your first response and I quote..."...is to file are report with the FTC, and post your experience on this site, since this is the only site they cannot buy off."..

But then for some reason copied and pasted from a scam site a LIST of every site and politician..that CAN be bought off.

Did not mean to personally offend you, if I did I apologize. I do believe you mean well.

Karl on the other hand...in my opinion is exploiting other peoples misfortune to promote his lousy poetry..and trying to turn this website into his personal poetry publishing website.

The poems help no one. They are nothing but self serving. On occasion he leaves good advice, but in general, I detect other self serving motives.

My report can be found in this site. There can only be a solution if enough people complain. I am trying to give people where they can report the wrongs done to them, and hopefully this nasty company can be stopped from nefarious business practices. I have no problem with Kari; I do however have a problem with a know-it-all who criticizes others yet offers not solutions of his own. Practice what you preach.

....is that you were also ripped off. Anyone can copy and paste a list of places to complain to, or leave a link to the FTC. But did any of it work for you? If not..you only left a list of what didn't work so far.

If anything did help you..describe in detail the steps taken, how long it took, and if you have received either a refund, or were told you will be getting one in the future..or has anyone replied that they are at least investigating?

This can actually help the poster and other victims who read this report. And it gives more legitimacy to you..and not make you look like a Karl.

I am not trying to say you do not mean well, or that I know any better then you..I am simply posting my observations and opinions. I hope you do not take offense.

I would hope someone who found this site..would find the FTC and the BBB etc..but most are just posting here to warn others. If someone actually has a solution that has worked, it would be nice to post that as well, that is all.

Ronny g - I have written about this extensively and it can be found in the threads. Kelly has even made a direct refusal to return my deposit... it is all in the threads.

bman..you claim you fell for the Quicken loan scam too. So instead of spamming copy and pasted generic "suggestions", why not tell us what YOU did...and did it or did it not offer a remedy?

Now THAT would actually be useful, and better then pasting info from a scam site that is only USING the good intent of these agencies (well even that is questionable)..to SCAM disgruntled PayPal users out of money.

Can you understand my reasoning?

What in the post is bad advice?

By all means offer better advice than was posted by me

If a remedy works it works. Nowhere do I mention any Pay Pal scam, and my goal is not to sound smarter than anyone else in this site. My goal is to help people address business wrongs in the ways that are available to every person reading this thread. Nowhere do I lay claim to authorship like one would do in say in a novel. With the suggestions (as Ronny g would say) I stand firm and the map of possibilities may even help people find a way to counteract the damage that is being done to them. Or address the wrongs that are being done them, once criminal acts (like usury), made legal by a now screwed up financial system that by design defrauds the poorest American people. This is my only true goal. If, as you maintain in the next post, this leads to a class action suit you may offer how the readers can begin this process since the information would be USEFUL. Please I would be really interested... as I am sure would be the person that wrote the original post. Thank you.

and I would not have..if I did not recognize everything posted on your reply..as copied and pasted DIRECTLY, from the SCAM site "PayPal sucks".

You have to as well..be weary of a website that offers advise to those that feel they were a victim of a scam..to heed advise from another scam site that charges so called "victims"..

It hits a nerve with me so I responded accordingly. I apologize if it distracted from the report at hand.

My thoughts are whatever works works - Pay Pal or otherwise. I hope that the suggestions I have posted are a positive move forward for those that have been scammed. If the suggestions are good they are good - and Ronny g, I know if they are not, you will be there to correct them and offer advice.

To one of the commenters: if, in your case, the appraiser assessed your home's value at less than your loan amount, you would not have even been able to refinance.  So in this case, they did you a huge favor.  Nobody is going to forgive you part of the loan just because the house dropped in value after you bought it and is worth less than the outstanding loan.  Also, there are always substantial fees associated with refinancing a house.  Unless they were significantly more than $3000 or so, you did not get screwed over.

"screw paypal"???...perhaps?

Oh, the advice is good. But screw PayPal is a SCAM website, that charges MONEY to help so called "victims" who either screwed PayPal, tried to screw PayPal, or tried and FAILED to screw others through PayPal. And what does this scam sight do for the MONEY they charge? I will tell you. They "claim" a way to get the very person who claims they were screwed by PayPal and hate PayPal, and cry and whine like little girls about PayPal....uhhhhhhhhh...back on PayPal? Yeah..that sounds about right..you'd have to be a first rate idiot to fall for it.

Use the information available from that website to fight those who truly ripped you off..but until I hear a case where PayPal actually ripped someone off..and it is not just a cry baby or scammer that failed to scam paypal and /or it's users and is pissed because they FAILED, or that they do not understand the reason why PayPal would want to... like anyone else with half a brain, protect THEMSELVES from being SCAMMED..my reply stands firm.

Contact Your United States Senators

Every state has two United States Senators. These two people are elected on a state wide basis and represent your entire state in Washington D.C.. Your United States Senators have enormous power and enormous influence. A simple letter or phone call from a U.S. Senator's office can move mountains. Every United States Senator has an office that deals with constituent complaints involving a number of issues -- every problem imaginable are handled by your United States Senators' office. Plus, they want to get re-elected and they serve their voters not the business.

http://www.senate.gov/

Contact Your United States Congressman/woman

Unlike Senators, your state has anywhere from one to over 50 United States Congressmen/women. In your congressional district, you have ONE United States Congressman/woman. Like Senators, members of Congress deal with a huge amount of voter problems -- you name the topic, and they can and will help you.

Contact The United States Department of Justice

The Department of Justice is the federal government's chief law enforcement agency and prosecutorial office.

http://www.justice.gov/

And my favorite:

Contact The Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

It is the only federal agency with both consumer protection and competition jurisdiction in broad sectors of the economy. The FTC pursues vigorous and effective law enforcement; advances consumers interests...

This is the agency that companies fear.

http://www.ftc.gov/reports/index.shtm

Contact The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

This agency regulate all companies that are trading stock publicly. They also are very concerned with companies who engage in fraudulent activity which might manipulate their stock price and give investors a false picture of the truth of a company's heath.

http://www.sec.gov/complaint.shtml

Contact The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

Report the offending company to this feared and effective government task force. Your aim here is to highlight the criminal and fraudulent nature of the companies activities. You must be able to detail how they wronged you and stole your money.

http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx

Contact The Council of the Better Business Bureau

The Better Business Bureau is another group that many businesses need to answer to -- first it has enormous influence and second, many businesses are members. Since it is paid for by businesses it may not be as effective as the government agencies that are created to protect you.

http://www.bbb.org/

Contact The National Consumer Law Center

"The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) is the nations consumer law expert, helping consumers, their advocates, and public policy makers use powerful and complex consumer laws on behalf of low-income and vulnerable Americans seeking economic justice.

Todays consumer marketplace is complex and full of potholes, even for those of us with all the necessary skills and advantages. For unsuspecting low-income consumers its far more treacherous - even the smallest misstep can lead to financial ruin and a sense of hopelessness that paralyzes individual progress."

http://www.nclc.org/

Contact The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C)

They will help you with filing a complaint against the company showing you how to do it and provide other resources. White collar crime is a term coined for something that many businesses engage: it is fraud and outright theft committed by those wearing a white shirt and tie to work everyday.

I had a simular situation with quicken loan.  They claimed that they sent an appraiser out to assess my home but documented false information.  My home value had went down from a lot of forclosing in the area but quicken loans refinanced my loan based on incorrect numbers.  The value of my home was less than they indicated so now I have a mortage that is higher than the actual value of my home. I owe more than the home is worth. Then as it alwasy end up, my loan has been sold twice since then.  I know this is illegal but don't know where to start to seek justice.  The fees they charged were substantial and all added into the balance of the loan making it even more that what I was thought to be the balance.  However, there employees are super nice and they sucker you into a trap with their wolf in sheeps clothes tactics

...is to file are report with the FTC, and post your experience on this site, since this is the only site they cannot buy off. They are sneaky and unscrupulous yet people trust them to do the right thing, something they will not do as demonstrated admirably on this site. Please file a report, the more the better!
