The Ramada Plaza Hotels are listed in the Ramada Directory Booklet along with Ramada Hotels and other Ramada associated properties. They are franchises but if you are unhappy with a Marriott franchise or a Hilton franchise you contact Hilton or Marriott which stand behind all of thier properties. Several complainers on ROR have contacted Ramada and have recieved essentially a brushoff. I would recommend pestering Ramada, not the Ramada Plaza Resort telemarketers who are fronting for a timeshare and recieving a payment for each shill that can be enticed into the sales room in order to recieve theme park tickets, cruise tickets etc. Constant complaints to Ramada make make them break their franchise agreements with the franchisee. It is obvious from the complaints that there are serious sanitation issues with at least the Ft. Lauderdale property inland from the beach and apparently one or more sections of the beachfront hotel. I've stayed at Ramada hotels. The ones I've stayed at were ok. Nothing really wrong with them from a cleanliness standpoint.

I think that the last time I paid $35 for a Florida hotel was sometime in the late '70's. I can't understand why Ramada Plaza Resorts or Imperial Majesty Cruises can't market this package as a bargain vacation when that's what it is. I hang up on all telemarketers and would never give out my credit card information to someone hawking a vacation over the phone until I got information in the mail on it and read any negative reports. Most of the negatives for this package relate to the failure of the company to give a refund without all sorts of formal letters and copies to state agencies. People who have gone on the vacation have come back with mixed reviews. The people expecting a luxury vacation are disappointed and those expecting a bargain are happy with it.

Anonymous is apparently an employee and not just some random 'rip off report reader' And Yes, Amanda, read my report...I am a former employee and YES they definately mislead and use some very intense sales tactics. This lady had JUST lost her husband in an accident, and her eldest son was paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheel chair and my TO took over (TO=Take over but they like to call themselves team leaders or supervisors) and sold them the entire vacation bc the son was turning 21.....did my TO ever mention that the cruise IS NOT wheelchair accessible? NOPE he wanted the sale! so this kid thinking he's gonna have a grand ol time for his 21st and to help him not think about his dad....and when he gets there, oops sorry kid, no wheelchairs! That's the night I left. Shame on you! Good Luck Amanda!

A hotel in downtown ft lauderdale for 30 dollars a night?!? (I can't help from laugh at this) You can't find a hotel here for less than 100$ a night, let alone it be a resort!! LOL, When you arrive ask the desk how much it is a night.

To the Anonymous poster who rebutted my post. First of all, nowhere in my original report did I use the word "scam". You did however. Before you file a rebuttal, it is wise to read carefully and have an educated understanding of what was communicated. Secondly, my argument or "problem" with this vacation is that it was misrepresented. The person who sold the vacation told us very clearly via recorded phone conversation that the hotel was comparable to the quality of a $75.00-$100.00 a night hotel. Upon checking the facts, we discovered the hotel charges $29.99 - $35.00. We were also told that the cruise was comparable to Royal Caribbean. We later find out that the actual cruise boat was built in 1953 and has nowhere near the accomodations or quality of Royal Caribbean. We paid $538.00 as a DOWN PAYMENT. By the time the extra fees are to be paid, we would have spent well over $1000.00 and we could go on a higher quality vacation somewhere else by the time all things were said and done. Again, to restate my point, my problem with this vacation is that it was misrepresented and I want a refund. Lastly, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act is very clear that there is a 30 day window for a refund. Ramada falls into this Act and must obey the law. To state that all companies or stores have a no refund policy is ignorant and illegal. The credit card company is recouping the funds even if Ramada refuses. My husband called to try to talk it out with one of their reps not once but twice to give it a fair shot and was rudely hung up on after being accused of being Bill Gates for questioning the mirepresentation and the quality of the vacation. So not only were we lied to, but we had terrible customer service on top of that. I'm not expecting something for nothing, but I do expect to be told the truth.

I never once used the word scam in my previous post. You did. Before you file a rebuttal, you should fully comprehend and have a full educated understanding of what was said. I never once stated the vacation was a scam, but considering what is involved, I am better off booking a vacation on my own. As far as the refund goes, you should know the law before making statements to the contrary. The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act is very clear in defining a 30-day window of a refund. Ramada's policy does not override the law. To state that ALL stores have this policy of no refund is bad business AND illegal. No company is above the law. If I book this separately on my own I save myself a lot of headaches, plus I don't have to sit through a timeshare tour if I do this on my own. We were promised over the phone deluxe accommodations that equal a $75.00-$100.00 a night hotel stay. And a cruise that is equal to or better than Royal Caribbean. This was said very clearly over the phone. $29.99-$35.00 a night is NOT deluxe. The cruise boat is not like Royal Caribbean, not even close! We were mislead. No one said anyone was being blamed for the fees. The bottom line is that the vacation package was misrepresented, and therefore we will not pay for it. A luxury vacation WAS promised and RECORDED over the phone. All I want is a refund, because the vacation was not honestly presented in regards to price comparisons with similar businesses and similar quality. That is all. I never made the claim it was a scam. The customer service quality is less than acceptable. My husband called back with questions and the person Jason he spoke to was very rude and told my husband "how dare you think you are Bill Gates to expect higher quality than $29.00-$35.00 a night." He then hung up on him. If you want people to come back for your vacation, this isn't the way to do it.

I read this rip off report on a daily basis and am appalled by all the negative GARBAGE that I read. #1: Go to any store in the USA, make a purchase, and try to return it 30 days later. You won't be able to. ALL stores have this policy. All I'm seeing on this report is people complaining that they can't get a refund! Too bad, so sad. "Troy" of Shreveport writes " we just found out we would not be able to take this trip, EVER." Troy, you are obviously very much ALIVE, so why can't you take this trip, EVER? Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound? Buyers remorse is no excuse, niether is ignorance. #2 : The package is as follows... 3/2 nights in Ft.Lauderdale, 3/2 nights in Orlando, a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas, ALL of your meals, and a rental car...you also get TWO bonus vacations, 3/2 nights in Las Vegas, AND 3/2 nights in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. All for $538.00 for TWO people...I spend more on groceries and gas in a week!! Do you have to sit through a time share spiel, yes..but has anybody ever heard the word "NO"? It's a common word used often with children! #3: Hello! You always have incidental charges and taxes..win a car? You pay the tax! Win the lottery? You pay the tax! Win ANYTHING, you pay the tax! Thank America, don't blame others!! Of course there are taxes on your hotel and car, and yes, you still have to tip your waiter, porter, cabin steward etc... they want to earn a living too! I read one report from a consumer that was angry she had to tip her waitress and pay hotel tax...again..hello, what planet are you on that you think you can eat a free meal but not tip your server? Atrocious! #4 : This is the most important, as I feel everybody in this country is lazy and/or cheap, and looking for a "free ride". A luxury vacation is not promised, but one that will fit your budget is! Please remember the saying "you get what you pay for" and you won't be dissapointed. $538.00 is NOTHING. It can't even pay your mortgage or buy fuel for your car! For a couple on a tight budget, this is a dream come true!! Cheap hotels? Hardly! I visited the Ramada in Orlando recently and although its not the Ritz Carlton, it's hardly a dump!! In short, a "scam" would mean you get NOTHING..you get a quality vacation at a quality price...enjoy it!!
