Mistakenly I agreed to the scam without checking them out online. I made the assumption that with the Ramada name they were respectable. Also, Universal Studios and Carnival Cruise Lines were in the advertisement mailed to me. About 10 minutes after signing up and giving them $698 (with the balance due upon reservation) I checked out my "wonderful vacation" online.

The first site that hit was the Ripoff Report. I read everything that had been written and immediately changed my mind. Even if it turned out OK, I didnt want to take a chance and end up in Nassau with a crappy situation at hand.

I called my credit card and they couldn't file and dispute for 3 weeks until it officially posted. I called Ramada Plaza Resorts the next day and was on the phone for an hour with him trying to convince me to take the vacation.

On the phone with RPR, I told them (after an hour) that the only way i was getting off the phone was if he said "yes I will give you a refund, or No I will not give you a refund." I told him if he said no that Ii will immediately file with the state (which I had already done). He left for a minute and came back and said he would send a postcard confirming cancellation.

You can get your money back. I went to the Florida Dept. of Agriculture Consumer Affairs and filled out a complaint form. Remember, Ramada Plaza Resorts say they record every conversation, remind them of that. I said to them, "I know you are recording and unless you are fraudulent, you must keep this tape for me to refer back to for 3 years." I made him say on tape that he "will issue a full refund for the amount billed to my credit card." He did so and about 5 days later I got the postcard and the credit issued to my card. It was painful but not nearly as bad as the other reports have stated.

Just remember the resources at your disposal, State Attorney, Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, etc.

You will get your money back. Just before I called I read a report on this post that said to remain calm. I usually don't but I did in this situation and I really think it helped me out. Good luck to all that have been scammed!
