I attended the seminar after my ex husband paid for me, my brother, my daughter and her boyfriend to attend. The course was quite expensive. I know he paid $1400 for me alone. It was a pretty penny to spend. I asked my Ex husband if this training was religious like or cult like. He assured me it wasn’t at all. It was suggested we read the book The Four Agreements before we attended. My daughter read it and was so excited about the content. I then read the book too and really enjoyed it as well. It was everything I have been personally working on for this past year. I became a little more excited to attend the training after reading the book The Four Agreements.

The training started, Ray Blanchard was on stage going through his speal. Then he asked if some would be willing to share what they hoped to get out of the training. I was one of the few that stood and shared that I was there to learn to have more self love, to honor myself and practice this to show up as love for all of the others that are in my life. I was attending for real purpose to improve me. I was also happy to see my daughter and her boyfriend there to be able to take home positive that would add to their lives. I’m all for bettering our lives. Well as the evening went on as we were cattled through the doors being yelled to to leave our bags on the table and to turn off our phones each time we went on a break. Then to herd us in to sit starting from the front and fill in the sits in the manner they wanted us to.

Then it was time to read the rules. The 10 rules. Hmmm...like the 10 Commandments. Then it went into you will listen to the rules and you will stand if you agree and stay seated if you didn’t. They would say after all who are standing please sit and those sitting please stand. Apparently those that were not going to abide by the rules would be asked not to attend. Hmmmm...forced doality ways. You will do as I say and keep your mouth shut basically. They asked that we keep our word. That is integrity he explained. Like we as grown a*s adults don’t know what Integrity means. One of the rules was that there would be no side talking. Then they asked that we sit next to someone we didn’t know each time we would return to the room after breaks.

Well my 20 year old daughter was told by her father, that is now one of the coaches, she could sit by her boyfriend the whole time if she attended. Well, low and behold they were called out in front of the group of almost 50 others that there was a boyfriend/girlfriend situation in the room that has chosen not to break away from each other and go by the rules to sit apart. I watched my daughters face turn beet red as I sat inbetween the two of them. They were both squirming as they were both very uncomfortable. Then my daughter leaned over and "side talked” to me. I then responded to my sweet girl with "side talk.” Ray Blanchard decided to yell at us in front of the entire group. Well that was when Mr. Ray Blanchard barked up the wrong tree. I stood up and said I was done and leaving. I grabbed my stuff and stormed out knowing I was going to say things that were probably going to make that whole room feel uncomfortable real fast. I was chased down by one of the woman coaches named Shannon, then it went south really fast!

I’m now up against 4 of the coaches outside the doors. It was not pretty! I told then I didn’t sign up for a Religious like, cult like training. I was not in a program that was made to humiliate and force their rules and ways! They said that was not what it was. They tried to calm me down. My brother was also next to me and supporting my feelings and thoughts. They asked if I would please go back in and try and join the group again. I went back in and sat and watched the group for a moment as they were all participating in walking around in a group activity. Ray Blanchard decided to force Me to participate immediately if I was going to be in the room by trying to embarrass me in front of everyone.

Unbelievable!! You can do what you want to me, but you better believe that momma bear is going to come raging if you mess with my babies! This program is disgusting and very cult like. Follow the rules! Do not speak of anything that goes on. You may tell your experience. Do not take notes! No side talking! No chewing gum, mints, water, nothing in your mouth in the training room. This is a training of programming. It’s absolutely disgusting. I’m appalled. My daughter, her boyfriend, my brother and myself did not continue with this awful training of being programmed after the first night was over.

It was a lot of what I have been personally working on this past year in bettering myself. I became a little more excited to attend the training after reading the book The Four Agreements.

The training started, Ray Blanchard, PhD was on stage going through his speal. Then he asked if some of us would be willing to share what they were hoping to get out of the training. I was one of the few that stood and shared that I was there to learn to have more self love, to honor myself more and to practice this so I can show up as love better for all of the others that are in my life. I was attending for real purpose to improve me. I was also happy to see my daughter and her boyfriend there too, feeling like they too would be able to take home positive that would add to their lives as well. I’m all for continually working on bettering our lives. Well as the evening went on as we were cattled through the doors being yelled at to leave our bags on the table and to turn off our phones each time we went on a break. Then to herd us in to sit starting from the front and fill in the seats in the manner they wanted us to.

Then it was time to read the rules. The 10 rules. Hmmm...almost felt like they came up with their10 "Commandments”. Then it went into, you will listen to the rules and you will stand if you agree and stay seated if you didn’t. They would say after all who are standing please sit and those sitting please stand. Apparently those that were not going to abide by the rules would be asked not to attend. Hmmmm...forced "doality” ways. You will do as I say and keep your mouth shut basically. They asked that we keep our word. That is the definition of integrity he explained. Like we as grown adults don’t know what Integrity means. One of the rules was that there would be no side talking. Then they asked that we sit next to someone we didn’t know each time we would return to the room after breaks.

Well my 20 year old daughter was asked by her father to attend this training with her boyfriend. She was hesitant to do it, but he told her she would get a lot of it like the Tony Robbins seminar she had attended. He said this training is a lot like that. She was told by her father, that is now one of the Spectrum Life Design coaches, she could sit by her boyfriend the whole time if she attended.

I was not impressed with Ray Blanchards, PhD style to publicly humiliate my daughter and her boyfriend. I sat there with my blood boiling feeling for the two of them. Here we are at a "self help, change your life” training and my daughter who has been through many challenges in life that most her age have never even begun to experience is being publicly shamed. Why??? Because her father that is one of the coaches, told her to feel free to sit with her boyfriend the whole time. That’s how she felt comfortable in an uncomfortable situation for a young adult. Then my daughter leaned over and "side talked” to me. I then responded to my sweet girl with "side talk.” Ray Blanchard, PhD decided to yell at us in front of the entire group. Well that was when Mr. Ray Blanchard, PhD barked up the wrong tree. I stood up and said I was done and I was leaving. I grabbed my stuff and stormed out, knowing if I stayed in the room I was going to say things that were probably going to make that whole room feel uncomfortable real fast. I was chased down by one of the woman coaches named Shannon, then it went south really fast! She kept repeating, asking if I could look at the possibility he may have been talking about another couple in the group. However he stared right at my daughter and her boyfriend as he said it. She then told me she understood how I was feeling as a mother. I was appalled that she was claiming to know without knowing what experiences have happened in my children’s lives in even the past 5 years.

I’m now up against 4 of the coaches outside the doors. It was not pretty! I told then I didn’t sign up for a religious like, cult like training. I did not know I was signing up for a program that was made to humiliate and force their rules and ways! They said that was not what it was. They tried to calm me down. My brother was also next to me and supporting my feelings and thoughts. They asked if I would please go back in and try and join the group again. I went back in and sat and watched the group for a moment as they were all participating in walking around in a group activity. Ray Blanchard, PhD decided to speak into the microphone to publicly announce that one of the coaches needed get me to participate immediately if I was going to be in the room. He said it with demand and irritation in his voice.

Unbelievable!! This style may work for some, but it absolutely does not work for me. You better believe too, that momma bear is going to come raging if you mess with my babies! This program is disgusting and very cult like. Their ways are, follow the rules, do not speak of anything that goes on of how the training is done, you may only share of your experience, do not take notes, do Not side talk, No chewing gum, mints, water, nothing in your mouth in the training room etc.. This Life Spectrum Design, is a training of programming. It’s absolutely disgusting. I’m appalled. My sweet daughter that night text me and asked if I would please take her and her boyfriend back home to Utah the next day. She told me how awful that experience was. I agreed that we would be done with that program. My brother agreed that all respect was lost for Ray Blanchard, PhD for the public humiliation of his niece and boyfriend. Public humiliation of young adults or anyone for that matter is never ok! It’s disgusting behavior. I write this in hopes that it will save others from wasting money, time and most importantly self preservation.
