The motor for my 1998 Venture Van was purchased and installed on 11-28-05....It lasted 10 months.....I started complaining about it in July 2006.....The add coolant lite kept coming on....finally after about 2 months and a lot of anti-freeze the garage gave it a high pressure test and found that the head gasket was leaking.....a new motor was sent for and received but when it was installed and started the lifters were making so much noise it sounded like a diesel.....Advance Auto parts wont the mechanic to tell me that nothing was wrong and that it needed broke in.....I did not fall off of a turnip truck ....I know if it is working or not.....Now Recon Auto Remanufacturing are giving me and the garage a very difficult time....I need help... I want another motor...which I feel I am do.....Please advise.....

Pat, Did you buy a used motor from a salvage yard, or a rebuilt motor? Was it called a "reconditioned" motor? If this is the case, that is just a "cleaned up" old motor. They steam clean it and paint it. Magic. A reconditioned motor! What was the written guarantee on the motor? Usually even a rebuilt is only 12 mo/12,000 miles limited warranty. How much did you pay for the motor, and what type was it? This will tell us alot.
