I drove my truck to Red's where I left it for inspection by Rulon VanDrew. He was not present during this time. Diana, at the counter, took my information that instructed her to call with any charges BEFORE work was done. She noted that I request only an inspection on the blank invoice / authorization I signed. Previously I had spoken to Mr. VanDrew and explained my funds are limited, so I must know before ANY work is done "HOW MUCH? He told me to bring it in the following morning.

Following this Mr. Van Drew could not be reached at work for 5 days

Days later Rulon is back at work where I reach him by phone. Whereupon he informs me it will cost $895.00 total, to fix my truck, four hundred to begin work on it. I request he fax me the written estimate, which he ignores. I reiterate I do not have that kind of money so I probably will see about getting a transmission from a wrecking yard, and I will see him on Monday with my decision.

Tuesday I make it in to get my truck, as funds for this endeavor are nonexistant. Rulon refuses to release my vehicle to me in lieu of 300.00 he's claiming in labor. He has taken apart my transmission!!

Wednesday I return with the police.

I explain the situation to the officer .He then goes inside to talk with Rulon.

He returns with the invoice and checks my signature on the invoice # 48268 and further explains that this is a civil matter .I request the officer give me the customer copy of the invoice showing the written estimate

What I am given is NOT an estimate. It is a total quote including the instructions o.k. for inspection.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I DEMAND MY TRUCK be returned. The officer tells me to leave.

Now, I contact the company that holds bond for Red's. Following our conversation, I was able to pick up my truck.

As per the bonding companies instructions, I waited until they closed. (i.e. after hours)

My vehicle was not as I had brought it in. In fact the transfer case and transmission are in the bed of the truck making it impossible to drive home

Thereupon I contacted another garage that sent a tow dolly to collect my truck.

You may recall I personally drove my truck to Red's.

As of this date I am claiming damages for the following :

$ 300.00 reconstruct transmission as it was prior to Red's

$1,200.00 2 weeks lost wages while I was denied access to my truck

$1,500.00 TOTAL to date and accruing

NOW WHAT?

It's getting dark as I approach my vehicle parked along side the road. Window's down, keys in it the transfer case and transmission are in the bed of the truck... making it impossible to drive home.Thereupon I contacted another garage that sent a tow dolly to collect my truck.
