Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I first went to rejuve med spa because of their link with FunAsia, who the business I work for also has a link with.  When I went in with high hopes of a successful procedure all was fine and dandy.   I consulted with Karen Reverdy on December 6, 2012, who told me everything would be fine and the procedure would go well, etc.  I asked multiple questions and she seemed to know what she was talking about.  I paid in full and super excited about finally getting laser lipo on my arms done.  I was completely aware of the healing time and the results that would come of my situation.  Yes, I get it I am a big, but I wouldn't have taken the route of laser lipo if I hadn't tried the regular methods first.  This is something I have dealt with for years.

On December 7, 2012 I went in for my pre-op blood work etc. and met with Summer Reed  who is Medical Assistant & Certified Laser Tech according to their website.  She took my blood work and explained to me what would happen on the day of the procedure. A prescription was called in for me for antibiotics, which I was to start the day before, a valium to take before the procedure, and hydrocondine for the pain after. Which I picked up from walgreens and began taking as directed --Please note through all of this I have still not met with a doctor, nor was I told that Karen was not medically trained.  Turns out she is "started as a receptionist and quickly learned about the services offered at Rejuve." that is from the website as well.

On December 13, 2012 I went into the office for my procedure, pictures were taken, I was taken into the room for the procedure, told to take the valium, and then told the doctor was running late.  NOTE AT THIS POINT THE DOCTOR HAS STILL NOT SEEN ME.  After about thirty minutes of being sedated under valium Dr. Clay Alexander comes in.  He begins asking me questions about being sexually active, and unprotected sex. He doesn't let me get a word in and says "So your at a childbearing age having unprotected sex."-- well  I am married, and those questions should have been asked at my consult, not while I am sedated about to have a procedure done. He then tells me to remove my robe so that he could look at my arms....he should have done the consult. He then says he cannot perform the procedure because there would be too much skin left over I was aware of this....I was told it would be okay in my consult, because I am young, and have healty skin so it will go back with time as long as I wear my garment. Dr. Alexander was rude, and had a very bad bed side manner.   He stormed out of the room and I was left there to be consoled by Karen and Raj Tanna, who is the manager there. All of this should have been handled on Day 1 when I came in for my appointment.  I shouldn't have had been asked to pre-op done before a doctor saw me. I shouldn't have been told to take Valium without the doctor seeing me. I shouldnt have been seen my doctor period. I missed two days of work, and was told to take a drug which I did not need. I also wasted $ on the prescriptions and etc.  I do not recommend going to this med spa, I recommend you go directly to the doctors office.

Rebuttal to Ms. Neerali Mehta

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, December 21, 2012

Rejuve Med-Spa's first and foremost concern is for the safety and satisfaction of its clients. We have been in business for 7 years and have treated thousands of clients without a single negative medical incident. We will NOT take on a client if we feel that the procedure is unsafe for the client OR if we feel that the client is not going to be happy with the results after the procedure.

Ms. Neerali Mehta came to Rejuve Med-Spa for a Laser Lipo consultation for her arms on Thursday 12/6 at 5pm. She was in a major hurry to get the procedure done as she was leaving for India very soon. SHE WAS TOLD DURING THE CONSULTATION THAT BECAUSE OF HER RUSHED SCHEDULE, THE DOCTOR WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EXAMINE HER UNTIL THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE. NOTE THAT SHE NEVER VOICED THIS AS A CONCERN AND ACCEPTED THIS CONDITION. SHE ARRIVED FOR THE PROCEDURE KNOWING THAT SHE HAD NOT YET BEEN SEEN BY THE DOCTOR.

On the day of the procedure, the doctor examined Ms. Mehta and informed her that because of her large size, she would not get good results and hence he did not feel right in doing the procedure and taking her money. Ms. Mehta was so desperate to get the procedure that she was willing to sign a release accepting the fact that the results would not be optimum. The doctor could have easily covered himself and Rejuve Med-Spa with such a release and done the procedure to make some money however that is NOT the principle on which Rejuve operates!

Ms. Mehta's entire fee was refunded to her.

I, as the owner of Rejuve Med-Spa, spent over 90 minutes talking to Ms. Mehta explaining to her that I was turning away business during these hard economic times but that it was morally and ethically the right thing to do.

I am sorry that Ms. Mehta is upset at Rejuve because we first thought about her safety and satisfaction and second about our bank account!
