Rent-A-Center would call several days before my payments were due.  I always made my payments up 2-3 months in advance and they would still call me and remind me my payments were due.  Considering that I have given them thousands of dollars since August, 2011 you'd think they would realize that I knew that my payments were due.  I was only late on this one payment by just days and I was going to pay the account off.  They called me on Wed. (I was going to pay off my account on Thurs).  I informed the manager that I was waiting on my money and that I would pay off the account the next day.  He said he couldn't wait until the next morning (it was about 6:30p.m.).  We ended the call and 5 min. later, he called back and my husband answered.  At that time, he told my husband that he had stolen property (the account was in my name only).  The next day, he had a doctor's appointment.  They called while we were gone and when he didn't get an answer at my house, he called my aunt and told her that I was stealing and hiding from him.  She was not on my account, either.  She informed him that I was not at home because of doctor's appointments and he pretty much told her she was lying.  I called Rent-A-Center Thurs. morning and told him that I intended to pay off my account and the manager said he didn't want my money, he wanted the items returned.  (I owed them about $2,400).  I told him to come and get the stuff and I went somewhere else and bought a brand new living room set for half of the price rent a center was charging me.

You know it is a good idea that when you write a "RipOff Report" that you at least try to keep your story straight from one sentence to another. 

I always made my payments up 2-3 months in advance and they would still call me and remind me my payments were due..... I was only late on this one payment by just days and I was going to pay the account off.

- You can't both ALWAYS pay your account 2-3 months in advance, and late by just days.  This makes one wonder what the whole story is.
