I am ashamed to say that I was bilked by this company over several months. Needless to say, I am much more careful about viewing my credit statements. It happened through Fandango.

Technically, what they do is not illegal (as the attorney general's office in Seattle informed me) because you are giving consent (albeit, it is in the fine print) to bill your account for this "service" with the information you gave the other (legit) company. I will never do business with Fandango again for being in bed with these low-lives.

This is the secret.

Most people become aware that they are being credited for a certain amount of money (usually $9/month) after the first "payment". They call the provided number... THIS is the catch.

The first thing that the automated systems asks is "Do you want to CANCEL your service?" Most people figure that they lost $9 and cut their losses without much hassle.

(What company with any repute would put a cancellation of their services as the first option in their phone tree?)

Only if you inquire much further, and speak with minimum wage thieves like "Joe", or "Mary".. or whomever. You must ask to get ALL of your money back repeatedly, and it will be credited.

Their "revenue" is dependant on the premise that most people will cancel their "service" immediately, and not get refunded.

I myself had over a hundred dollars stolen. I recieved it all back.

Also, what company would pay employees to go onto sites like this to refute angry "customers"?
