Complaint Review: Restore Pro's USA - Dallas Texas

If I could give them zero stars I would. I would not wish this company on my worst enemy. They have received $190,000 from my mortgage company and have been "working on my house" for nearly a year and a half. I have no cabinets, no flooring, no plumbing, no doors, no trim...the list goes on and on. I have been calling the owner, Edric Dennis since April and he has not returned a call. The salesman, Cody, I thought he was decent, but he has not returned a call to me in 53 calls over three weeks and has not responded to over 50 text messages. Completely ghosted. They lie and hire random people off the street. One guy was even staying in my garage. He will do just enough work to get another check from your mortgage company and then do the vanishing act.

I have since found he has done business as Restore Pro's LLC, Restore Pros LLC, Block to Block Restoration LLC, Xpress Frie Restoration LLC, Landmark Public Adjusting INC, I just saw he opened a new LLC called Restore Pro's USA LLC.

I have had six project managers and the 6th one (hired one month ago) just messaged me saying he is quitting and I got an email from a lady he hired to run his office (also hired one month ago) saying I need a lawyer since they are scammers.

I doubt I will even get a project manager 7, because Edric Dennis had Cody call me saying he needs to speak to my mortgage company for more money. They have over 75% of my claim amount and the house is at about 30% at best.

I have had subcontractors come to my house asking for money and saying they were not paid.

Do not do business with this company unless you enjoy stress, anxiety, dishonesty, constant lies, random homeless workers, shady business practices, being out of your home way past the time your ALE runs out, constantly being ignored, and having to pay for a lawyer.

  This guy Shon Dennis is a complete ripoff; He is a liar and a coward. He broke several things we agreed on. Does anyone have a real address for Xpress Fire Restoration?  The address Shon presents on his business card is incorrect. He is now doing business as Mitigation America, LLC.

  Terrible company lies constantly, what seems to be fraud of insurance companies, gets strangers to come in your home and unpack things, miscommunication constantly, fires his workers if he messes up, scam artist!!! The weirdos he had in our house, stole from our house and he said we have to get with the insurance because he is upset we fired him.

  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR INSURANCES MONEY! THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST AND LIARS AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING READ THIS!!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!!

This "company" is the worst company (I USE THAT WORD VERRRRY LIGHTLY) I have ever encountered. It is full of inconsistencies and incompetence. Everyone wants to shift blame and they are scam artist. The level of incompetence from the owner himself was just deportable. First they will try to lock you into a contract and make your insurance pay an egregious amount of money! They bring in like 20 strangers from what looks like an rehabilitation program off the streets into your home to pack all your items. Which a few of my items came up stolen (Alexa Dot, sewing machine and computer chairs) The company itself is unorganized and ran by an complete idiot who capitalizes off of people in vulnerable states. They would always talk about how they could make the Insurance pay more and get us everything we wanted and sometimes they would say they didnt want to go into detail on the phone and my husband and I always sensed fraud but were not sure but they would always say you will walk away with alot of money in your pockets and once we noticed that we were out.

We fired them and went on to another company and our home turned out beautiful. They leisurely would fire people in the company because the upper management did something wrong and blame on them and would say "oh that guy no longer works here because of blah blah blah" and would try to make it seem like he was firing them because of us and how they were handling our construction job." I thought that was very strange because I knew who the problem was and thought it was odd because they didnt care about their staff. They promised us all these things such as they would get all our clothes washed, all our clothes sat around for 1.5 months and were never washed until I finally had to call the owner Shon and he gave me a number to call and I gave the guy my info he didnt even know who I was to began with and he told me none of my clothes had even been touched he could drop them off to us and I had another company wash them. They told the insurance company they cleaned all our items, they were not cleaned, the made it seen like they hired some amazing company to clean our items we happened to be there as they were cleaning up and he went to our washer and dryer as he was talking to my husband and it took all of 2 seconds and he pulled out a wipe and said "cleaned" I wish I could make this stuff up. I tried because it was black owned and I wanted to give people a chance but that was probably the worst mistake I ever made. After they were fired and we started noticing our items were missing we gave them a call and he said call the Insurance, you have no proof we did it. Please save yourself the headache DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The storage company hated them and they can no longer use there services and pretty much everyone they were in contact with and had to work with for us would hate dealing with them. They werent getting paperwork in on time, would lie and say they did and then I would ask to see the original email and they would get defensive and say I am not about to prove anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR INSURANCES MONEY! THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST AND LIARS AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

  Do not do business with this company. Do not work for this company. The sales man Edric Deshon Dennis is a pathological liar and a thief. They chase fires and pressure you in to a contract while you are in shock over a tragedy. They use a cheap cleaner called la's awesome that he buys at dollar General for $3.00 to clean smoke damage. Then he takes your clothes to a local cleaner and then bills you for 5 to 7 times the amount. He does not have steady employees, he uses people off the streets with no back ground checks to come in to your house. He does not pay his bills or honor any contracts he enters into. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF! He operates his scam in Houston and Dallas Fort Worth. Be careful with this idiot.

This company does business under lots of different names all of them are shady. The owners, Edric Shon Dennis and Cody Adams, have taken funds from my mortgage company and have not completed the job. They just ask for more money and my mortgage company has already paid them over 190k. I have had contractors show up and knock on my rental property door asking for money saying they haven't been paid. They won't answer calls or respond at all. They are the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. They run this scam out of Houston and Dallas and send Cody the nice guy out to be your salesman. He tells you you'll be back in your house soon and everything will be great. Don't believe it!

I've been displaced for almost a year and a half and my house is at about 30% done and they won't work. I have been scammed like everyone else here.

Edric Dennis just changed the name of the company again from Restore Pro's LLC to Restore Pro's USA don't fall for it.

Not under this company name, but under Mitigation America. In November of 2020, I had a fire in my house. A very nice man showed up at my house and offered services through this company. I hired them. As soon as they got my personal belongings out of the house and got money from the insurance company they disappeared. I still do not have access to the storage facility where they stored my things. This is a continuing nightmare for me,. It's truly funny, yet disturbing that their pitch was that they were there to take the stress off of me by offering me their services,. This man hired a general contractor in the Dallas Ft Worth area to do the work. He only owns the name of a company. And according to my research, He has owned many names like this. If anyone has helpful ideas about how to get my things out of their name and into mine, please connect with me here.   __________________________________   XPress did not complete the job. There were still some areas that needed to be redone including the floor tile, they left a nail in the floor and they placed the tile over it and it came through the tile. They put no grout between the tiles; the counter was not placed properly and there's a gap at the edge. The paint job was poorly done with drips on the wall. I tried to rectify the issue with the owner, Shon, but he told me to leave him alone. He was not interested in resolving the issue. Small claims court here I come.   _____________________________  

• Agreed with Leona K...during Harvey, they're basically profiteering. They were incredibly aggressive with their sales, giving us info counter to our adjuster, they didn't finish the work, and refused to put in dehumidifiers to complete the remediation.
  
  Shon, their lead on the project, was incredibly unprofessional and threatened to report me for fraud and theft of service if I didn't pay him the balance immediately. We haven't even heard back from our claims adjuster yet...plus they broke our granite countertops during removal.

• • DANGER! Beware of this contractor. We signed a contract with Xpress Fire and Restoration in September after Hurricane Harvey. The job was supposed to be finished December 1st. It is now June 1st and our house is still far from finished. There is not one room that is finished and the house cannot be occupied. To date there is unfinished plumbing, electrical, cabinets / doors / trim, paint, and flooring. We have been very patient with Shon's constant delays as he has excuses for everything. What work that has been done is very poor quality and will have to be re-done or replaced. I have retained legal counsel and am now suing for Breach of Contract and any other legal action the Lawyer recommends. Find someone else to do your home repairs, do not use Xpress Fire and Restoration.
