Rhino Shield of Georgia is highly advertised and endorsed in our area. Knowing this, we were excited to contract with them. We initially trusted what we were being told was accurate. There was no indication to the contrary. We invested a substantial amount of money in the process. In addition to the coating cost, we were told we needed to replace wood that showed rot and some of the gutters prior to the coating application. Rhino Shield representative Jeff Roper assured us once this was done we were guaranteed to be thrilled with the end results! We agreed to all their recommendations and forked over the additional money. They sent a crew to do all the prep work.  To my knowledge, it was another company that was separate from Rhino Shield of Georgia. It was done in a timely manner and with little inconvenience.  All the work was inspected by Rhino Shield and determined to be prepped to their specifications. They scheduled a crew to apply the coating. The nightmare began with the actual application of the product.

Once the repairs were complete a crew was sent to do the application. We were concerned about the weather conditions on the scheduled day.  Roxanne assured us even though it was February, the temperature and moisture levels were well within their products requirements.  We were again told that the crew had years of experience and we were covered by a 25-year warranty. The product was sprayed on. The overspray was unreal! Again we were assured this is how things were done and they would clean up all the overspray and the house would look amazing for years to come.  Rhino Shield put a sign in our yard to advertise and put me on their list of referrals. The crew came and cleaned up most of the overspray. Upon further inspection, we noticed an orange peel effect. We were expecting a smooth painted finish that we were promised. When we questioned the ripples and lumps in the finish we were told that the product had to cure and flatten out. Weeks later there was no improvement in the coating surface. Roxanne was called again and referred us to Sean. He came out and agreed something had gone wrong and a new crew would be sent to fix the problem.

Shortly thereafter a new crew was dispatched and went as far as to remove wood and reapply the coating material. There was patching and spraying for days. We were impressed by Sean and the new crew’s dedication to ensuring the job was done correctly this time. It looked better but it was not what we expected given the cost. We settled for the end result even though there were still many imperfections. Again we were reassured of the 25-year warranty.

Several years later we started to notice areas of the coating had started to bubble and peel. Other areas showed signs of wear that looked like the coating had vanished and bare wood was exposed. The worst was the sign of actual rot under the coating. We contacted Rhino Shield and spoke to Roxanne. She said that they did not handle repairs we had to call another company to come out and inspect the problem. We called the number we were given and to our surprise, it was Sean again. He looked over the obvious rotted area and told us we would have to pay almost another thousand dollars to have the repairs done. He said that the rot was caused by our bushes. These were the same bushes that were there at the same height when the product was applied. To say we were flabbergasted would be an understatement!

We did not agree to his “solution”! This is not what we paid for! These were not the results we were promised! This lack of customer satisfaction was not what we were guaranteed! To date, there has been nothing done to correct the problem. Rhino Shield has never done anything to stand behind their work. We feel deceived and taken advantage of, Ripped off! When were we deceived; when we were guaranteed the dependability of the product when we were told all the problem areas were repaired and the coating would give us years of amazing performance when we were assured that the crew was experienced and would provide expert application? It is obvious by the condition of our home that everything promised was false. In good conscience, I could NOT recommend this product of this company to anyone! All we expect is what we paid for and the company to do what is right by us. Our whole house is the issue not just the one area of extreme rot Sean quoted. The coating was not applied correctly initially! That is the problem
