This sounds just like the modus operandi of the Ohio state dental board. No wonder, their offices are side by side and they are headed by opportunistic LAWYERS looking to advance their own careers--NOT by healthcare professionals.
So many innocent dentists have been unjustly persecuted by these incompetant bureaucrats, who BUY their position by political contribution, that OH Senator Coughlin introduced legislation to REFORM their covert and underhanded actions. Their far flung and outrageous claims made by their incompetant investigators ensure job security for these malicious keystone cops!

For those of you reading this going...wow! I don't get it...take a gander at many of these postings............. For those of you checking in, crying tears, ready to come to Rita's aid and march on wherever she wants you to march on...you might, perhaps, read just a couple of other reports filed by this person. Note that each one of these, by nature, must have it's own culprit. I'm counting 19, but I think I missed a few. Read before you make up your opinion, and of course read the OTHER SIDE OF THIS STORY (Only fair) at: http://med.ohio.gov/formala/35050161.pdf I think you'll realize what's going on. Please also note the deep personal attacks used for those professionals who are trying to do their job. Notice the racist attacks. Notice the sexist attacks. The Xenophobic attacks. After reading all this, think deep to yourself. If you were in deep medical doo-doo, would you want this person to be your only physician? 330124 374522 331399 366042 384920 385263 384765 332688 363750 328642 384729 361519 268648 385630 329263 383736 (Mayo Clinic) 378373 (Mayo Clinic) 269735 (Delta Airlines) 358870 (Case Western, Didn't like Grade) You will see that Andromeda's defense is a little bit strained. Probably the most interesting reply was posted by Rita herself...this is (according to Rita herself) a copy of an e-mail which (I assume) she accidently got a hold of (See Report: #330124): The question was could I set up a meeting with Speaker Budish in his Beachwood office in February for 20 minutes with the lawyer 1.29.09 Geri, If you could help this woman in any way, that would be great, but be cautious because she's, well, pretty crazy. We definitely do not want to schedule her to see the Speaker. Thanks, Daniel Joslyn Legislative Aide to Speaker Budish Riffe Center, 11th Floor 77 S High Street, Columbus Ohio Phone: (614)477-5441 [email protected] --------- Probably says it all from someone who sounds like they actually spoke on the phone.

I read the report. Tell me doctor 'interested person', Why didn't her doctors order Thyroid and Parathyroid tests and Calcium and Phosphorus tests when she started to fracture? We are all waiting for your answer 'Doctor'! Tell us on your next post. You are doing a lot of guessing and interpreting using evidence that may or may not be totally factual and may have been altered. Did you miss that when you read the report, or just choose to leave it out? Tell us on your next post. I think anyone who would make 'fun' of someone's problems is a 'very sad little person' who probably needs counseling to find out why they they choose that behavior. In case you don't know, I mean YOU. Explain this on your next post. What is your connection to the Medical Board, and why are you defending them so vigorously? Why don't you put YOUR real name and location here? Rita had the courage to do that! Ill bet it is because Rita knows you. Explain this on your next post. Unless you have constructive information that can help Rita NOW, your posts are not relevant, and should be in a 'chat' room. This website is to offer good help and advice to people who honestly feel they were treated badly. RipOffReport thread authors are 'protected' on here! Here is a quote from the founder of RipOffReport: START OF QUOTE 'If you are familiar with this site, as you seem to be, you will know that we are dedicated to the plight of victims. In the event a victim comes to this site for safe harbor to obtain support/solutions, we are further dedicated to precluding further victimization by attorneys, corporate shills, or heartless bastards who just don't care who they attack. We may get more than a little vigorous, but it is important that all victims understand that these waters are truly friendly.' END OF QUOTE This means YOU Dr. interested person! WISE UP DUMMY!

Could you be the waste and fraud in to taxpayers? 1) Multiple wasteful complaints to the board with no valid follow up but time and money spent to respont. 2) Multiple degrees with no mention by you of a money producing job from these degrees in the last 16 years. Dropping out of a program without completing the program. 3) Taking up slots that could be used by a productive individual? That sound like a huge waste of public resources.

Governor Strickland does TAX FRAUD (Federal/State) by defrauding physicians of their practice and income for 'confidential' complaints by jealous colleagues - complaints that have nothing to do with their patient care. These 'complaints' that no one can straighten out or SEE to VERIFY, then lead to the Medical Board (lay Members & lawyers and not brilliant physicians/DOs/podiatrists) voting a physician IMPAIRED WITHOUT CRITERIA - as they disagree with the Board about having to disagree with colleagues. It's IMPAIRMENT without any judicial review. Disagreements are tolerated in politics, but not in medicine in Ohio. In my case I made too much of bad orthopedic care, didn't send Dr. Nice enough referrals (refused to continue working with him), and reported Dr. Nice for failing to send my medical records for 1.5 years and other harassments = too much has been made of this when Dr. Nice should have been just told to send the medical records to The Mayo Clinic/Cleveland Clinic and try to help the consultants heal me up = the right thing to do. That's what a normal Chief of Staff would have done, but Dr. Suppes was drinking too heavily at the time and not a 'normal' Chief of Staff being Dr. Nice's neighbor and drinking buddy. When I tried to talk with him, he was going through a bottle of wine in front of me at drug company expense. For 16 years the Federal/State of Ohio taxes have been zilch, because you can't make an income with a pile of lies at the State Medical Board of Ohio - so you are doing Ohio out of money Governor Strickland - with false impairments for political purposes - because you won't reform things or even appoint good Members. Things are as messy as Taft left them and you promised REFORMS/CHANGE. This is like Soviet Russia was, and one of my Ohio Board evaluators had trained in Soviet techniques about dissenters - the lawyers couldn't believe it on his resume. There is NO OTHER STATE WITH CONFIDENTIAL PHYSICIAN COMPLAINTS AT THEIR STATE MEDICAL BOARDS, and Ohio statistics reveal heavier penalties and more disciplines than should be happening in any state for minor flaws (making too much of bad orthopedic care? while admitting that the 'boys were being boys' as Mr. Dilling did). Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor or common sense in Ohio? That this is ridiculous, all these goes, all this waste? Mr. Whitehouse/Mr. Dilling have both known that my case at The Medical Board of Ohio is false, but that I can't prove that unless the 'confidential' file is opened, and Dr. Nice & Mrs. Nice control the Board. Both Whitehouse/Dilling didn't like that I wrote the Governors after being lied about in unbelieveable ways - that I was 'seductive' with two wrist fractures (new definition of the word), that I asked Dr. Nice 'out ice skating' when he can't skate (common knowledge that he gives himself a concussion if he steps on ice as he's too uncoordinated, clumsy, etc on ice), etc, that I couldn't satisfy Drs. Nice or Keith, couldn't be the patient that they wanted or send them enough patients. So what choice did you leave me? Governor Taft tried to help by asking that Carla O'Day MD be evaluated/her disciplines reviewed, and I have still to testify on that issue. Dr. O'Day is a horrible woman, and no patient or law firm should go near her; she shouldn't have been on any Medical Board. Dr. O'Day destroys colleagues daily, and gets her kicks by hurting people because she was hurt YEARS AGO. Her divorce in the 1980s was painful, but she hurt a lot of other people leading up to that. And I sadly tried to talk an irate MD out of penalizing her for her comments and behaviors on the wards during that time - she hurts back. Governor Strickland, Mr. Whitehouse - all the evaluation that I can do has to be covered by Medical Mutual of Ohio - and that means WITH ALL the facts, complaints, and accusations with names and dates. My parents don't like that it would be used to pay Dr. Resnick, as University Hospitals of Cleveland during 1990-2 was asked to do every test/workup on me to find out why I was fracturing and the attendings were too lazy to write a lab slip or for physical therapy. They want you to tell them the diagnosis, and that doesn't always happen. I wrote a lot of my own lab slips and studies and my father wrote for others - but that's not what is supposed to happen and Dr. Keith/Dr. Lafferty were getting paid to do something beside complain. At that time, I had every BC/BS insurance covering everything (in/outpatient) ordered including splints - and the splints at University Green Road were so bad that they came apart in 2 hours. The Mayo Clinic splint lasted a year. The difference in quality of care outside of Ohio v Ohio was amazing - you've done NOTHING about this Governor Strickland. Dr. Keith was asked 8.1991 to sit down with my father and go over the labs and x-rays, and he refused saying that I was just 'crazy' that I had bone pains; that Dr. Keith couldn't be bothered (but he wanted to operate on me at the time and my father said to explain the procedure and Dr. Keith couldn't do that either). Dr. Keith then told me during an office visit that I kept him from good sex with his wife at night - because he had to THINK about what to do with my case at night (STUDY SOMETHING) = the office visit discussion that was allowed, not the differential diagnosis. Dr. Keith did not have his Boards in Hand Surgery - but he signed every note 'Hand Surgeon' until I called the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. So Governor Strickland, Mr. Whitehouse, Senator Grendell - the evaluation has to be covered by Medical Mutual and that means that medically everything, including 'confidential,' has to be part of this evaluation (the 6th go at me). Or you talk to Medical Mutual about what they will pay. . . This is all sounding extremely obsessive, corrupt, crazy, psychotic, and that you have a hang-up with a woman physician who has to disagree that she has something 'different' and that her fractures aren't healing and need longer casting. Can't handle a woman disagreeing in Ohio? - yet Dr. Nice plays rough polo and Dr. Keith is quite heavy physically = BIG GUYS. Neither could understand metabolic bone disease = the concept or workup. A foot fracture later required 8 weeks of care and still didn't heal well. This is endocrine bone problem, not a psychiatric problem, but the problem is that care is so bad for women in Ohio that you go to get a cast and lose your life for 16 years for orthopedics and Board Members with fixations, Members taking things too seriously or with psychotic assumptions/fixations of what the facts are, Members not having an open mind as to the diagnostic problem, etc. Not all fractures are SIMPLE = as Dr. Nice would describe them. It is IRS/STATE TAX FRAUD to falsify an IMPAIRMENT OR DISABILITY - as has been done with me for 16 years now. Just to win a false case, and not have to admit a mistake that the Ohio Court of Appeals told the Board to admit and get on with in 1993. X the box and let me go, you are all MAKING TOO MUCH OF MY PETTY and STUPID COMPLAINT OF 17 YEARS AGO - a complaint that should have been handled in a professional 'confidential' way to resolve the colleague-colleague differences of care and whether I deserved referral, consultation and my medical records. Dr. Nice doesn't have to REFER, CONSULT, or SEND THE MEDICAL RECORDS in time to fix the problem = the problem.

Governor Strickland does TAX FRAUD by allowing the State Medical Board to arbitrarily declare physicians IMPAIRED for objecting to the wrong care. The physician can't work as a physician for years then because the files are 'confidential' and not about patient care. Then the State of Ohio is out thousands of dollars of taxes each year. IMPAIRMENTS by the State Medical Board need to be done with TRANSPARENCY - and the same records and second-opinions as DISABILITY. There were no patient complaints in my case. Dr. Nice could not do fracture care, Dr. Keith couldn't do fracture care and Dr. Lafferty couldn't order blood work - there was no care and no oversight.

Here's a forum that YOU chose to join. YOU chose to voice your problem. Yet, when I take the time to go through the 400+ pages of documents involving your case and come up with some questions YOU refuse to address them to further clear your name. Frankly, and this is just an opinion based solely an YOUR comments and YOUR documents that YOU generated and ignoring all other induendo. I base this comment on what you wrote, how you wrote it, and WHO you wrote it to. (With the exception of the psychiatrist from Case Western Reserve who basically based his preliminary decision on your e-mail since he claims you refused to meet with him, or at least refused to pay the fee to meet with him). It appears that anyone who would write a letter just after 9/11 to President BUSH to complain about a state medical board's action, when one did not exhuast the remedies supplied by that board is NOT RATIONAL. Oh, I'm sure you can pass any multiple choice test out there, but you do not seem to BEHAVE in a rational manner. Your writings are rambling, paranoid, have flights of idea, are irrational in their goals (look, just give me my license back and then I'll resign it and then go somewhere else since the ENTIRE state medical society in Ohio is corrupt). So let me add some more questions to allow you to clear your name: 1) Why did you write higher level officials, theGovernor of Ohio and the President of the United States. Did you really think they were going to drop everything to over-rule the well documented case of a local Board who is tasked with the duty to define who has the ability to practice medicine in the state? 2 )Read through ALL your letters (and your mother's) and tell us how YOU would diagnose this patient Border line Personality disorder with elements of Narcissistic Personality? Flights of idea and irrational thought possibly Schizophrenic? 3) If you had a 50 year old patient bring their MOTHER in to explain her medical complaint and then have that patient swear up and down that they were competent to practice in the rigorous environment of a physician, wouldn't your mind have a bit, it not A LOT of doubt to this claim? I point to the letters on the board's file as EVIDENCE that this is a valid example. 4) Have you sought out independent psychiatric advise for you case and, if so, are there any issues (don't tell us) that MAY point to the board as making a right decision? It is upon you to defend yourself, that's simply how the game is played. When you signed on to be a $100,000+ professional you entered this game and should of been well aware of the rules. Since you chose this forum to complain, then you can also use it to justify your actions and to explain, based on these actions, why the board is wrong. In summary though, and again just opinion of an unnamed person typing on a Sunday morning...The Board was 100% justify, have bent over backwards to deal with your bizzarre behavior. That you have wasted the time and money of this board who had to deal with your unjustified rants, which took them away from more important issues in interest of the public's health and safety.

1) You never pointed out how the orthopedist was responsible for your osteoporosis...wouldn't these brittle bones be poorly healing no matter what? 2) What type of physical therapy do you refer to to help a poorly healing bone? 3) Shouldn't an internist (such as yourself) managed the osteoporosis from a metaboloic point of view? 4) Is it true that when dictating a consult for medical clearance you placed personal information between you and the orthopedist in that consult? That doesn't sound like professional behavior. 5) Why would a 50 year old graduate have her MOTHER write letters to the Medical Board? That doesn't sound like professional behavior, but there are copies of the letters in the board report. 6) Why would the military want the services of a 55 year old femle with no military experience who hates following orders (i.e. instructions of the board) and his has fragile bones? Doesn't make sense? 7) Why are you in this forum for this problem to begin with? 8) Why do you keep trying to impress everyone that you're in Mensa? 9) Why would a physician from YOUR medical school find that even your E-MAILS are consistent with you having mental disease? -December 10 2003 letter by Dr. Resnick? 10) Why, if this orthopedist was so bad, did you go him for management of all your fractures? 11) Why would you submit to the Board your grade card? How does your "A" in harp effect this case? How does your Mensa membership fit in with this? Wasn't the Unabomber a Mensa member also?

When will the evaluations end for daring to complain about Dr. Nice in 1991? I supposedly need the Medical Board of Ohio's 'help' to understand the bad care and 'take it' - 16-going-on-17 years later? Just dismiss the case of Dr. Nice and let me get on with my life. There were no patient complaints, just my complaint that Dr. Nice was fooling around with my orthopedic care, filling out horse bet sheets in the office, his Catholic girls are 'easy' and homosexual friends comments, and refused to send his medical records on me to the consultants. AND when the records showed up 1.5 years later, they were highly edited and full of nonsense, garbage about everything, sexual innuendo, and office visits that never occured. The Ohio Medical Board can't prove any of this 'record,' but my license is still in limbo 16 years later because I didn't like Dr. Nice's care, his getting his pants hemmed in front of me, his invitation to 'understand' him, etc., and I won't admit Dr. & Mrs. Nice's lies - because that's not my professional integrity modus operandi to admit lies that even a 5th GRADER would see as lies. The boys in Iraq might like a woman MD who won't sleep with every male colleague, who might say no to an unindicated procedure or unnecessary consultation with the Dr. Nice types, who might report problems for solutions so that they can get better care and no unnecessary medical care/procedures/wrong diagnoses. Free up my license and see if I can pass the military psychological tests - at least they won't ask who I slept with and how many times. Abuse, beating a woman patient up violence, sex, and bad boy comments shouldn't be part of medical care in Ohio or in any other state, and Medical Boards and legislatures shouldn't be condoning this and disciplining so that the women physicians can 'take it' with Oslerian aequanimitas = the one word that Dr. Anita Steinbergh DO knows. Challenge: let me go to the Army. They could use a woman that isn't a pushover for every testosterone-driven male colleague or legislator.

Rick - look you took my license without any workup in Ohio, no blood tests, no physical therapy or even massage therapy of 3 significant non-healing fractures. The Ohio State Court of Appeals in 1993, told the Board representative from the AG's office that this was a different kind of situation, ie one with no patient complaints, a colleague-colleague bitter fight about an unanticipated result and some likely medical/orthopedic mistakes. The 3-judge panel told the female attorney to 'solve this problem in another way,' and what was her problem with this as it wasn't her mistake to begin with? The Judges has to listen to her about her marriage, but I wasn't allowed a life. It was obviously a colleague-colleague fight about the care; a Hillcrest fight. So for 16 years now, I've continued to fracture bones and only been able to respond to the horrible lies told about me at the state level, and in public records and documents, with futile-cycle letters and emails. I paid for return of my medical license in 1997-8, restitution of licensure, and those funds were just LOST, and you wanted $5000 more over-a-weekend in 2003? My family is not a cash machine, and I've not been allowed to work in medicine since 1992. No one can pay for any further evaluations without all the documents and accusations included, ie the 'confidential' complaint file. What I've said in testimony or written about the treatment that I got, and the comments/beating done to me, were entirely true. Dr. O'Day, Dr. Nice, Dr. Keith, Dr. Suppes, Dr. Lafferty et al, lied and the lies are obvious to even a 5TH GRADER; they did a cursory or barely nothing workup and care and expected serious fractures to heal. I had a rare endocrine bone problem that wasn't diagnosed until after 5 more fractures, by blood work done in other states where the Medical Board has to consider blood work and allow physicians 'care-to-function.' This is not my psychiatric problem, and more evaluations to say that everything is 'fine' or 'ok' or the bone pains 'gone' won't work - because the bone pain isn't gone and won't go away now for the rest of my life after 8 fractures = fractures that you are responsible for = administrative malpractice, neglect and fraud. The bone condition remains untreated, I got no ob-gyn or other care from 1992-7 becuase of the misinformation published by the Ohio State Medical Board under your predecessors; I didn't deserve care nationally. And I've gotten little care since. Nothing is ok here. If you want a copy of Dr. Licata's consult, all you have to do is ask. But Susan Stephens MD has it, Representative Dolan and Senator Grendell has it, and Dr. Resnick has it.

Nothing can be straightened out without the Medical Board allowing the opening of the 'confidential' file and a discussion of what happened in this case by the involved parties = DISCUSSION WITH THE FACTS. And this is not about a PATIENT's care; just the physician-patient being unable to get care-to-function in Ohio. Endless evaluations of the woman physician-patient will not solve things here - the fracture care, blood work, workup, etc was not adequate - and she has no psychiatric problem except that she tried to save herself as any patient would have done = common sense. She almost lost the function of her R hand and in OHIO COMPLICATIONS FROM WRIST FRACTURE CARE GO ON FOR 2 YEARS becuase there is no care literally. The woman-physician complained to THE STATE MEDICAL BOARD OF OHIO to get her medical records to the consultants and stop the harassments by the involved physicians and their respective institutions/hospital systems. There are no MISTAKE LAWS in Ohio so, when there is an unanticipated result, the physicians responsible start lying and making up a personality problem for the otherwise lovely physician-patient WITH NO PATIENT COMPLAINTS. It was her license or theirs and it shouldn't come down to that. Again, SHE had no patient complaints. Please someone get some sense here after 16-going-on-17 years. The Medical Board files and proceedings in Ohio need to be available, transparent, and reviewable. There needs to be some oversight mechanism for the Ohio State Medical Board decisions, procedural processes, medical licensure suspensions and 'disciplinary' actions. The Ohio Court of Appeals can't do anything but remand the decision BACK TO THE OHIO STATE MEDICAL BOARD FOR MORE OF THE SAME. Governor Strickland looks the other way. And the woman physician here lost her personal life, hasn't paid much taxes as she lost her career and couldn't get decent health care without being made fun of; she lost everything for a political case where a review of care for wrist fractures was needed and some guidelines about male colleagues behavior towards female colleagues. Female colleagues are not there to listen to the 'boys being boys' or talking about their 'understanding' needs, last sex with their wife/girlfriend/date, or just bad joking around. Everyone needs to respect each other and take responsibility for their care outcomes, consultations and referrals.

I am sorry to hear this. The Ohio Medical Board is one of the Nations worst Boards in the entire country. They have taken countless fruitless actions against many good and decent doctors. Unfortunately, there is no jury, oversight or trial with the Medical Board. I am so sorry this happened to you. I doubt anything will change, as docotrs seldom get together or unite to fight for "physicians rights" so to speak. I can only say that what comes around goes around. They to will be judged someday! What happened was that things got out-of-control in Ohio, when no one at Hillcrest/University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio (not the place for bone problems) knew what was causing the fractures, poor healing, and bone pains. But the proper way to handle this as physicians and Medical Boards is to get the facts and DISCUSS things first, not meet in drunken Emergency sessions with innuendo, Rorschach tests with no answers, and piles of lies told by a former classmate Dr. Carla O'Day - who never finished any formal residency program. Dr. Nice was complained about as he wouldn't send his medical records to the consultants in 1991, and Dr. Keith wouldn't disclose the blood work or discuss anything (x-rays, blood work, plan) with my father physician. Both physicians obstructed the workup and fixing the fracture problems -only Dr. Nice was complained about as we had to promise Dr. Keith not to sue if he would do something - which turned out to be not much of anything care-wise. Now the proper way to end this is a discussion with the facts of what I had, which is the MOST COMMON THYROID PROBLEM FOR WOMEN, which Ohio physicians can't diagnose so they MISS it and call it 'psychiatric' to cover their mistakes - and psychiatrists in Ohio don't know about thyroid problems. The thyroid problem weakened the bone condition, and the bone pains did not improve until the thyroid problem was treated beginning in 2001 - no blood work was allowed before my medical license was suspended for disagreeing. This is not something that Senator Grendell would allow done to his wife or daughter, but it's ok for a woman physician in Ohio. This is being repeated on ripoff because a MEETING and DISCUSSION need to take place, not more evaluations of me for objecting as a Board Certified Internist. More psychiatrists who don't know what I have, and who I can't explain thyroid disease to as they are so stupid in Ohio - including Dr. Resnick at University - who wouldn't know thyroid disease if the goiters weighed 20lbs - but he can discuss my sex life and who I dated in medical school. The answer is to have a meeting and discussion, with the 'confidential' file signed by physicians who didn't know what I had, were protecting Dr. Nice, and who didn't ask me or my father what was going on before jumping to paranoid conclusions and stooping to campaigns and anonymous complaint. Senator Grendell even you can't sit for 5 minutes and discuss things calmly and intelligently - what is part of the problem also - you jump to ordering psychiatric evaluations on untreated metabolic bone problems because I object to the insanity. Discuss with your wife how she would feel and get some maturity please. Tom Corrigan can set up a meeting after 16 years. You all have the phone numbers and emails.
