My truck was picked up by River City Kustoms from the mechanic that did my engine. Steve, the owner of River City Kustoms, called me and told me that he had picked up the truck and wanted me to go and tell him what I wanted done.
I first went to see Steve on Oct. 6, 2008 and we discussed what I wanted done. They were to: redo frame, relocate the tailgate handle to the inside of bed, replace the right fender, replace the header panel, paint inside the cab of the truck, remove rear bumper and add a roll pan, shave fenders; here he was to remove all chrome parts from the body, add door poppers.
On my second visit to see Steve on Dec. 2, 2008, I added more tasks, they were to: add a drop kit; here he was to purchase lowering springs for the front, and remove a leaf from the leaf springs; he stated that that would be enough to lower and level the truck, Rim addapters; here he was to purchase rim addapters for my truck which are from 5 X 5 1/2 to 5 X 4 3/8, and redo rims; by that he was to have my spoke rims rechromed and the spokes re tightened.
In between the dates mentioned above, I went to see my truck about 1-3 times a week. I noticed that progress was moving very slow, and mentioned this to Steve. He stated that if I wanted the truck sooner, that he would not be able to pay so much attention to the job and that it would not look as good, as if he had taken his time.
On Feb.6, 2009 I saw Steve because he stated that the truck would be ready in two days, and that I could pick up the truck then. He went on to demand final payment. I gave him the balance $1,170.00. Thiswas the difference of the $5,170.00. He further stated that he would buff and blast in the cab and under the cab he paint and do any touch ups that were needed.
I went to see Steve several times before I finally got to see him. We talked about the parts that were missing and they were: dual horns, soleniod, positive cable, clutch part, shifter boot, front end parts, door poppers, stone deflector, drop kit 2" for the front and 4" for the rear, antenna, weather strips.
I recieved these parts on April 4, 2009. the dual horns were broken and he stated that he would fix them, but that didn't work. The clutch part was were not all there, shifter boot was torn, stone deflector wasn't painted, the drop kit wasn't the 2/4 he was to do, and the antenna wasn't the correct one.
He went on to state the parts he still owed me and they were: roll pan, tail gate relocater, and the wheel addapters.
I never recieved the roll pan, and the wheel addapters don't fit properly. He wrote this statement on April 4, 2009.
Then on May 2, 2009 he gave me another statement which read: parts given to Robert, tailgate relocator, wheel adapters (which didn't fit) and stone deflector. He went on to state the things still owed to me were: rool pan, Shackles (which I later turned down because he gave me a flip kit for my truck) and a tailgate handle which he had lost.
I have yet to recieve the roll pan, and the tailgate handle or buff blast and paint under the cab.
I have visited Steve several times for these parts and he keeps putting me off. He will not answer the phone. When I go to the shop, he is never there and when he is, he promisses to deliever the parts and goes on to blame his brother or some off the wall excuse, which I am tired of. I went to see him yet again on July 21,2009. He wasn't there but I left a message with his assistant, but he didn't call to explain why the parts were still not there.
