Rockenbach Chevrolet ripoff deceptive company they don't immediatly pay off the turn in loan and up the interest rate if you blink. Grayslake Illinois
In purchsing a used van at Rockenbach in fall of 2001 we went through the whole typical "used car salesman" game.
Everything was "let me just get this past my boss". I was pretty sick of hearing him run past to his "boss" and was about to get ready to take our 3 kids back home and leave my husband to deal with this jerk, when he miraculously was only needing 5 minutes more well that turned into another 30 minutes and three different quotes.
By this time we were exhausted, our kids were bored and whining, and I just wanted to get out of there, van or no van. My husband signed the contract and we traded in our old van for this newer used one (I refuse to get new with 3 small kids raring to ruin it! LOL) we got the keys and took off for home.
The next day we recieved a call to come in and pick up the paperwork, my husband did, they said one finance company needed different figures, so the idiot signed the papers believing we had the same deal, and didn't notice the HUGE APR change. Well let me tell you, when I finally did find out a few days later, I was furious, and felt deceived beyond belief!
I will also note it took them many weeks to pay off the old van loan, which caused a huge uproar from our creditor, and a nice big LATE notice on his credit report. I had to call them a few times to remind them to pay off my loan, and finally sent my creditor loose on them, I was sick of the calls!
The van runs fine, even though we had to return and have them replace a ball joint? within a week, but after the fiasco and song and dance routine we went through, I'll be getting any new OR used vehicles through car-max in the future, never again will I deal with Rockenbach EVER!!! I simplified this nightmare to the basics, it was worse living through it than trying to type out every nitty gritty detail! Happy car buying!
