After posting the initial complaint last night, we FINALLY received a call from the delivery driver. I signed for receipt of the bedroom suite at 10:00 PM! NOT a pleasant experience when I had to get up just after 4:00 am for work. Yes, we got our bedroom suite... 30 hours, and an entire weekend of waiting, after the scheduled delivery time. When I called Glenwood Avenue store manager Richard Whitehead this afternoon to let him know that I had FINALLY received my furniture and what time it arrived, the phone was answered by none other than "Sonya", the woman who made the initial notification of the delayed delivery, failed to provide contact phone numbers, etc. I did not even bother to complain to Mr. Whitehead about him KNOWING that the woman who initially lied to me was a member of his own staff. I am allegedly going to receive a refund of $200, but that will be by check in 7 to 10 business days. That amount represents my delivery charges plus approximately $90 for my 'troubles' (trouble? Wasting an entire weekend sitting around waiting for materials that were scheduled to be delivered more than THREE WEEKS in advance is 'trouble'? It is a $#*&* NIGHTMARE!) Needless to say, after my recent experiences (and an even worse experience from one of my wife's co-workers who put a deposit on a bedroom suite the SAME DAY where Rooms to Go violated their own purchase agreement terms and conditions by refusing to refund the full price of a purchase if cancelled within 48 hours) I WILL NEVER AGAIN do business with Rooms to Go and I have already let ALL of my coworkers know of the horrid experience I had with this company! You can only listen to the lying platitudes of a Store Manager who says he "knows about the delivery issues" yet has done nothing to correct the matter, has people who are a part of the source of the problem on his own staff (still working two days after I complained about her lies), and who makes no effort to let his customers know that delivery guarantees are "subject to change" and "have been having numerous delivery issues lately" before you just say FORGET THIS COMPANY! My advice: Shop for furniture at a store that has your merchandise IN STOCK ON SITE, and rent a U-Haul if you don;t have your own truck; and NEVER go to Rooms to Go.
