Royal Camera And Video ripoff, scam, fraudulent charges Brooklyn New York
i went to order a camera online from royal camera and was given a misleading price on their cannon digital rebel. They had one advertised for $545. I found out, that that was for their "grey market" version and that i would have to spend hundreds of dollars more if i wanted an "american' version.
I was sent a price quote and quickly declined that order seeing as it was $1400 more than i had figured. I called back the next day and did order two lenses that were correctly priced.
Over a month later, i found out they had been trying to charge my credit card for the original order which i had declined. They continued to try my card, and finally got an authorization of $1000. They ran it through.
When i found out, i called them and told them not to process my card. they said o.k. The next day i checked, and they ran it anyway!
I called and complained several times, and they did finally reverse the charge. They refused to pay the bank fees i had acquired as a result of their illegally charging my card.
I would never deal with these crooks again! I am also contacting the NY attorney general's office to file a complaint.
I specifically declined the original order, told them not to charge my card, and they did anyway.
Stay away from these people!!
