Royal Camera ripoff Brooklyn New York
These guys are scammers. We ordered a Nikon D70 with Deluxe Package for a total price including delivery of $1078.99. However, our VISA was charged $1529.99. On top of that, the camera was NOT a North America model. The box containing the camera had been tampered with - warranty card removed, battery recharger had European plugs for the outlets and a US adapter had been inserted. We could not format the memory card and took the camera to 2 different camera stores who said the problem was with the camera.
After contacting NIKON, it was determined that the camera was "gray market" and not useable in the USA. The camera was to come with 2 Nikon lenses as part of the package. What was delivered were 2 Tamron lenses - "substandard" according to local camera experts. I was successful in convincing Royal to cancel the sale with return of the merchandise (shipping back at my expense) but was also required to "eat" the earlier shipping charge and pay a 5% restocking fee as well. Overall, I lost $133.99 plus return shipping costs but it was well worth it not to deal with such a shabby outfit. Cheap lesson? Don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS!
