We have adopted two dogs from RUFF Rescue which is based in Aurora, CO.  They do adoption events through Petsmart.  About a month ago, my fiancee and I attended one of their adoption events and we adopted a female puppy that is an Akida/Red Healer mix.  A month later, we also adopted the puppy's mother and had them spayed both at the same time.  Upon adopting the canines, we were informed that both had been dewormed and spayed.  However, we never received any information on the vet who performed the operation or had dewormed the animals.  This morning (4/5/2017), I noticed as the puppy was taking a poo that its feces were infested with either roundworms or hookworms.  The animals had not been dewormed.  My fiancee and I have yet to hear anything further from RUFF Rescue regarding the matter.

My fiancee and I are now going to have to spend a lot of money to get the puppy dewormed and her mother checked for any possible roundworm or hookworm infestation.

I encourage all canine and feline owners or anyone looking to adopt an animal from RUFF Rescue to stay clear of them fpr they are fraudulent and neglectful.  I am also calling on all consumers who shop at Petsmart in the Denver/Metro area and all of its surrounding municipalities to petition the company to sever ties with RUFF Rescue permanently.

I want compensation for this insult.

I would've written this sooner if it weren't for the face that I've been really busy, so please accept my apologies.

So in response to what I posted a month ago, RUFF Rescue did finally contact me.  Pam, the organization's leader was able to get me an appointment scheduled with Clear Creek Animal Hospital and I was able to get both dogs looked at.  Our foster dog was able to receive medication for heartworms and the puppy we adopted was able to get another deworming dose.

I will say this:  If I had known to contact Pam sooner, I would have instead of jumping the gun.  Needless to say, I'm somewhat embarassed that I didn't think about it sooner.  She has been very helpful and instrumental.  Before we didn't know who to contact and my fiancee and I were very upset.  Both dogs are doing fine and are looking healthier.  The foster dog is due back in May for a follow up appointment.

I'd like to thank Pam for helping out and being very instrumental in rectifying the situation we were in with the dogs.  RUFF Rescue does go out of their way to see to it that all the dogs they take in are taken care of and given good homes with good people to adopt them.
