Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I entered into a contract with Siren Security five years ago. Safe Security bought the contract. At the end of the contract it automatically renewed.  I was unaware it did as I no longer have the original contract. I called to let them know I wanted to cancel and would pay for two months since I did not give 30 day notice. I was told to send  my request in writing, which I did via fax to the attention of Gary (no last name required because he told me he was the only Gary) I sent the request to fax 925-891-3650.  I also asked for a copy of the original contract.

I did not receive a response to my request.  Instead I recieved a copy of my original contract.  It was a two sided document.  No where did it state that the original contract would automatically renew. It stated that the total sales price was $2699.40 payable with payment of $44.99 for five years. I paid that amount in full.

I received a call in July from a Mr. Mustafa saying that Safe Security will take the two months I offered as final payment and that I would not be billed further and that the contract is cancelled.  I paid $89.98 amount due for two months, confirmation #8533390.  Mr Mustafa told me the conversation I had with him that day was recorded.

On August 27, 2013 I received a call from the collections department saying I owed for two months since I had'nt made a payment since July.  I explained the situation to him and asked that Mr Mustafa call me as he was the one who assured me that the payment I made in July was the final payment.  Mr Mustafa called and told me he does remember telling  me that the payment of $89.98 I made to him in July was the final payment and that the contract was cancelled.  He then proceded to tell me that he had made a mistake and was wrong in saying that.  He says the contract is still valid and that I owe the money.

He will send me another copy of the contract saying I should have received more pages and that I was mailed only a partial contract since it was only two pages and did not specify that the contract would auto renew after five years.  He also told me his manager (I am assuming the manager of the collections deparment) will be calling me and she has the final say. I asked that I be called after I receive the complete contract and not to call me tomorrow as I am having surgery and that a call in about a week would  give me time to recover and read the full contract.

Thank you
