I used the Samsung website to shop for a cellphone. The website offered phones at prices that could be discounted through affiliations (education, law enforcement, government, etc), by trading in a used cell phone, and through special timed promotions advertised on the website.
I selected a phone, my affiliation (education), entered the trade-in information for the phone I was getting rid of, and got a total price. I went to add it to my cart and was offered special discounts on accessories. I selected a phone charger, went to add it to my cart, and the cart showed the charger at the advertised price and the phone at a higher price.
I called Samsung and spent an hour with a representative who tried the same transaction and got the same higher price on the phone. She explained that the web site pricing was correct and even after I sent her screen shots of the prior transaction I tried with the lower price, refused to honor it. She was polite, spoke with a 'specialist' and wouldn't budge.
If I had completed the transaction without trying to add a charger, I'd have the phone at the original price. Sadly I tried to purchase something else and lost that opportunity. Samsung has a glitch or flaw in their website and won't honor or stand behind its mistakes. For that reason - they're NOT a company worth doing business with.
