My complaint is with Santa Barbara Bank and Trust ONLY! I too have used Turbo Tax online for several years with no problems until this company entered the picture this year. The ad for Santa Barbara came at completion of my online filing.

I'm a repeat user of Turbo Tax and find it nothing but convenient. They have service fees, but who doesn't? I've gotten my return back when I filed and it was returned as "accepted," but one year I'd inputted the wrong information and it delayed my return. Once I checked with the IRS it was back on track with no problem. I always recommend the program to family and friends.

I filed through turbo tax as well, but opted for just the ACH refund deposit. My return was accepted on January 15 according to the Santa Barbara Bank email message. I even spoke with the IRS and was informed that my return was fine and that there would be no delay in receiving it by January 28. However, it is January 28th and no money has been deposited into my account. I called the IRS. They stated that it had been released. Santa Barbara Bank of course back tracked when I called them on the phone and explained that yes indeed they had received it but that they were unable to release all of the refunds they had received. If anyone else has this going on as well please let me know. For now I am going to give them until Monday.

Turbo Tax did e-file tax returns and the IRS accepted them. What was not activated until 01/18/05 was the Taxpayer Freedom Act which allows qualifying individuals to file returns at no charge. I have my print outs from Turbo Tax and from SBBT e-mails stating the facts as reported in my original complaint.

this is interesting, whe ni tried to file my taxes thru turbo tax for this year i was given the message "the irs will not be accepting returns until mid-janurary" after checking the irs's website (www.irs.gov) it stated clearly the irs would not accept tax returns until 18 January 2005. there is no way your return could have been accepted on 15 Jan if you filed with turbo tax the software program wouldn't allow you to do it. i know i tried. i have used this program for 3 years and have never had a problem getting my money directly deposited.
