I looked up these crooks with the Better Business Bureau (http://www.labbb.org/scripts/cgiip.exe/
WService=wsbroker1/C%3A/Inetpub/
wwwroot/SouthlandReport/
default.htm?hCompID=1316441
2&hAKAID=1&hAddrID=1).
Here's a quote from the BBB web site: "We rate this company as having an unsatisfactory business performance record based on a pattern of complaints that cause us concern. Most complainants allege the company fails to pay on factory rebate offers which are distributed via sales promotions on monitors or other components at Frye's Electronics stores." Web searching for Scanport problems shows they also have a reputation for failing to live up to their warranty promises.
The Scamport crooks have played this card enough times that they've established a reputation as the con artists that they are. Too bad the BBB is not empowered to put these crooks out of business. You know that saying about, "Friends don't let friends drink and drive"? Friends should also not let friends do business with Scanport.
