Maintaining a contract for five years at an expense of $600! Someone must think you're made of money! Let's see... even if there have been no other problems to be repaired within the last five years, that means you were only entitled to five preventative maintenance checks, something I'm sure most are prepared to pay the $75-120 per year to have done! That means you spent $600 to have someone try to fix your appliance five years after purchase, instead of paying $600 to have someone say "Oopsy! Wanna buy a new one?" Sounds like you may end up on the winning end, because there is a clause in the Master Protection Agreement that states that you are entitled to full replacement if the needed part for repair has been deemed obsolete by the manufacturer. Try calling your local service center with that tidbit of information, and request a new dishwasher. I doubt you'll be handwashing long enough to get your fingers pruny and discolored.
