Sears Home Improvement I had kitchen cabinet refacing done in May 2014. San Diego California
I had my kitchen and bathroom cabinets refaced and I realized I've been scammed!! I had only 38 linear feet of cabinetry and Sears Home Improvements charged me $19,000.00. I should have realized when the sales agent stated "she told her office to give her all the little old lady calls because she was better with them than the men in the office". Yeah, that's right!
I tried to talk her down in price but she said if I got other quotes the price wouldn't hold (I didn't know how much I should have been paying). I asked her if there was a price break if I paid cash and she said "no there is no credits for cash". I asked for the 0% interest and 0 payments for 12 months. She said she would have that done. Well, when the first payment came there was $153.00 in interest. Now I am trying to pay this bill off as fast as I can because I am only falling deeper in the hole.
I spent this much money and I didn't even get door handles (I was trying to save cost) and I used my existing sinks and one countertop. When it came time to put in the faucets I had to buy my own because the sales agent forgot to put them in the order.
I dont' even want to go into the horrendous nightmare of the installation. I wish there was some recourse, but I don't know how to even begin.
I am very embarassed that I fell for this scam.
