My husband was done wrong by Seawest as well. He was stationed in Georgia and needed a vehicle. We have been trying to get the title to the car for 4yrs. Georgia has asked us to send proof that Seawest no longer exists and a check for the cost of the title. We did those things and was told by Georgia department of Revenue that they lost the check, then they couldn't find the paper work. It took us 6weeks to get all the papers and stuff they asked for taken care of. Then it took them 6 more weeks to tell us that they lost it all. The only way I know to get your title is to send Seawest a certified letter(keep the little green card) to the last known address, wait for it to be returned, don't open it. Get online and search for paperwork that shows that Seawest is no longer in business, and get the title application from the state where you had the vehicle registered, Send a check for the title, along with the returned letter you sent to Seawest to the appropriate DMV. We found that Seawest, although they sold the loans to Consumer Portfolio Services, Seawest was in our case still the leinholder on the title. If you can prove they no longer exist, you may be able to obtain your title. I'm still waiting but I wish you luck!

I had similar problems, but mine ALL had to do with Seawest. My car has been paid off for over 2 years, but Seawest refused to release the title!!!! Now CPS has reported the this loan was a charge-off on my credit report for $7,000!!!! Were you ever able to get a clear title on your vehicle? I would really like one, but no one seems to know what I can do about it. Please help if you can.
