Do NOT get a puppy from this store, the Shake a Paw in Union, or any pet store for that matter. My story begins July of 2011, and was absolutely devastating for me and my family. I stopped at Shake a Paw to pick up dog treats for my mother when I locked eyes with a beautiful Malti-Schon. I held him and it was love at first sight. I asked where he had come from, and was told "a wonderful breeder", that he was healthy and checked weekly by a vet. I mentioned that he kept shaking his head and it looked like something was bothering him, and was told the vet had just been there and he was fine.

I took him home and scheduled the free vet appointment for the next day and again the vet told me he was just fine after the examination and stool check. I had a bad feeling so I took him to a different vet the following morning. Well this vet found ear mites, parasites, and that the poor puppy had kennel cough. These things didn't just come up overnight! The vet told me he had been having problems for some time and gave me an unfit for sale letter.

I brought the letter to Shake a Paw and confronted them with all the information I had been finding online with people that had terrible things happen with their puppies from there. Researching deeper into the papers, the breeder they listed on my puppy's forms was a puppy mill. I asked them and the girls didn't koe what to say except that I could return the dog. At that point I was so in love with the puppy and disgusted by this business that takes advantage of poor puppies and people. The vet examines them weekly and just says their fine so people will buy them and get them out of there.

A few months later I took my puppy to get neutered and he died during the surgery due to genetic defects that weren't found until the autopsy. It was a heartbreaking time for myself and my family and I just wanted other people to know what we went through. With the prices they charge for sick puppies go to a reputable breeder listed on AKC.com. Buying a puppy from here or another pet store just keeps puppy mills going. Do some research online and you'll see the terrible conditions they live in!

Thanks
