I bought an English bulldog puppy 8/05. After 3 days the puppy began to have breathing difficulties. I immediately brought her to the vet and was told that she needed xrays. the xrays came back showing that 85% of her lungs were filled with fluid she had pneumonia. She was kept in icu with an oxygen tank, pumped with antibiotics and 2 days later i was told that this puppy should be put to sleep.

I immediately went to shake a paw in hicksville, to get my $2500 back and saw another engligh bull. I thought to myself that it couldnt happen to me twice. I took home my english bulldog. 2 weeks after she was home, she started to not breath right. brought her back to the animal hospital and again she was dx with pneumonia. Thankfully it was not as severe as the first one. a little antibiotics and a oxygen and a couple days she was back home.

weeks later I was walking Maggie and when she squatted down I saw what looked to be like spaghetti coming out of her.disgusted and frightened to death. I immediately brought her to the vet again and she was now dx with worms. ok. de-wormed her Next, maggies hair on her back began to fall out and she had a terrible rash, back to the vet and it was mange. for weeks she had to have a special bath that costs $60 each bath. ok next tumor on her paw. had to have surgery. next, limping, severe hip dysplasia, next, stopped eating for 2 days. brought her to the emergency pet vet off the LIE. after xrays, bloodwork, sonograms Maggie was diagnosed with Lymphoma. we had to put her to sleep. Maggie would have been 3 years old on April 27th.

the point of my story is that I called Shake a paw and spoke to a manager and was told that if the cancer is congenital then i can get a replacement dog. I said that i would never get a dog from them again and its clearly obvious that they sell defective dogs and his response was "My mother had cancer, does that mean she is defective" Enough said... Notice.... The money to care for the dog was not the issue here. she was a great tempered dog and a family member... it was the fact that OBVIOUSLY a dog that young should not have been that sick.. there had to be a problem in the mills!!
