Shopgoodwill.com Goodwill Goodwill Auctions Deceptive Descriptions, Cover Up Pictures, Infated Shipping Charges. Internet
I stumbled on Goodwill Auctions (www.shopgoodwill.com) one day and thought well I'll check it out as I am not a fan of EBAY, but that's a different story. I found a nice described and pictured silverplate coffee set that said it was a vintage set in perfect condition, Made in USA. When I got it in the mail, badly dented and sticker on it Made in Hong Kong. Never said that in the description.
Then, I stumbled on artwork by Passoss as described in excellent condition, only to receive the frame broken, the matte bent, and the picture as a reproduction on cardboard. Nowhere in the description did it state this, as the description stated just the opposite. Why not, because they are out to rip you off. That's why their shipping charges are outrageous. Well, no more Goodwill Auctions for me, I might as well flushed $50 down the toilet, rather it went in Goodwill's savings account. I read the annual report of Ohio Valley Goodwill just the other day because I was curious, just to learn they alone have over $1,000,000 dollars in cash. One would not know this unless you get your hands on their annual report. You can image why its hard to get a copy of one of these because they don't want you to know what they are really doing with the money they receive from selling your donations. How is having one million dollars in cash in the bank helping those in need?
Don't get me wrong, I like shopping at my local Goodwill because there are some unique pickings, even though I think they should be putting a lot more their cash to work. The people are friendly and actually holding the item in your hands makes a difference. Quality is quality and junk is junk. I see it before I buy it at my local goodwill, but I will never buy from Goodwill Auctions again as they do not describe the item accurately to purposely mislead bidders by adding fine print like we are not experts, take creative pictures to hide any defects, and they purposely inflate shipping cost. Mark my word, "Don't Waste Your Hard Earned Money at ShopGoodwill.com. You will REGRET IT.
