Just how many lawsuits are these deadbeats going to file in how many jurisdictions? If they can't pay for notary services they sure won't be able to hire one attorney, much less one in each jurisdiction. Most lawyers will want a substantial retainer before taking on a slander case because success is not likely. Most states have some sort of statute prohibiting filing frivolous lawsuits and providing for the defendant to recover his/her legal expenses. Filing a slander suit as an act of revenge would qualify as frivolous. In addition, attorneys who take on a case knowing it is frivolous face sanctions from the state bar.

Sign on the X offered to pay me IF I would drop my complaint. I told them I would consider doing so IF I actually received payment. I received a check from them a few weeks later. I decided not to remove my posting from because I feel others need to know. Yesterday evening, I received a call from SOX saying they are going to sue all notaries posting negative comments on Rip-OffReports about them unless we removeour postings within two days. They claim slander. IF I remove my posting, it will be under duress. Even more reason not to do business with SOX. They could simply file a rebuttal.
