My brother passed away a few weeks ago without making any preparation for his personal items after passing.
It was a terrible time for me, emotional and at the same time trying to figure out what to do.
I contacted Silver Lining Estate Sales in Arizona. They came out and went over the items in the home. They assured me that they would take care of the details. Within one week of hiring them to do the work, they contacted one of their dealers and sold all of the furniture for a fraction of what it was worth without contacting me. My brother had a 1500 count DVD collection they sold the entire DVD collection for .67 cents each, again without consulting me.
There were missing and unaccounted for items. They put together a sloppy hand written accounting that did not match up.
Do not do business with this company- you will be really sorry! DISHONEST TO THE BONE!!!!

This posting is to correct the previous posting regarding Brian R Andrews of Gold Canyon, Arizona. On February 3rd 2012, The Maricopa Superior Court issued an order that vacated the "judgement referred to in the post". Further, the entire case was dismissed with prejudice on June 22nd 2012. "With prejudice" means it cannot be refiled. Thus there is "no judgement" against Brian R. Andrews of Gold Canyon, Arizona and finding against him of any wrong doing. The previous posting is not correct.

I am an ardent estate sale attendee & always tried to attend the sales by Silver Lining Estate Sales. I am on their email list so when I didn't get notice of upcoming sales to attend starting the end of 2009, I eventually telephoned the company & talked to the owner, Carol Rone. She explained to me that a disgruntled family member who wasn't even the heir in an estate sale she conducted in Nov. 2009, was making her life miserable. I kept in touch because something similar had happened to another business I'm familiar with & was hoping Carol could clear up her troubles quickly because I LOVE SILVER LINING'S SALES. So I am aware of the highlights of what she said occured & it sure seems like recent Superior Court decisions backs up everything she told me as true. I have become one of her many cheerleaders & loyal customers because she stood her groound during an awful 2 year ordeal in order to clear her name personally & that of her business. She said she will make an official company announcement very soon. In the meantime I feel compelled to go ahead & tell what I know to be absolutely true.
The person who posted the comments here & on companynamesucks.com is Brian R. Andrews of Gold Canyon, AZ. He is the brother of someone who passed away & did not have the authority to interact with Silver Lining AT ALL after his brother passed away during the estate sale process. After almost a year & a half, in July 2011, The Superior Court of the State of AZ dismissed all of Brian Andrews false allegations against Carol Rone & Silver Lining Estate Sales. I looked up the court records so I know this to be true.
On September 15th, 2011, after delays, Brian Andrews did not even show up at the scheduled Arbitration at The State Bar of AZ! Carol Rone was awarded $500,000 in actual damages & $500,000 in punitive damages for a total of $1,000,000! You GO GIRL! You are my new hero. I am sick & tired of hearing & reading about people who use the internet to victimize people, often anonymously. Since the Judgment FOR Carol Rone is now official & has been posted on the court's docket, I'm happy to be the one who reveals the identity of the author because now it is a matter of public record: Brian R. Andrews of Gold Canyon, AZ. The Arbitration Award found that he had both intent & an "evil mind" (quoted from the Award) when he posted these defamatory statements about Carol. Both Andrews personally & both websites have been ordered by the Court to remove these falsehoods or else possibly face even more serious consequences. Standing up for yourself & your principles can be tough but Carol Rone is tougher!
So please book some sales, Carol ... we miss you!

Silver Lining Estate Sales conducted an estate sale for my mother's estate many years ago. The owner, Carol Rone, & her entire staff went above & beyond the call of duty to be kind, compassionate, and to treat all of my mother's "treasures" with the utmost respect. The estate sale was much more successful financially than my family expected it to be. Because of this experience I have attended Silver Lining's estate sales at every opportunity to say hello to Carol & have gotten to know her. She does not have a dishonest bone in her body. I've known of these outrageous statements made about her & her company since they occured in 2009. It has been a nightmare for her. I'm delighted to report that I just learned that Carol Rone was awarded a $1,000,000 Judgment from the Superior Court of AZ, for defamation of character & interference with her business. Also, this website & one other have been Court Ordered to removed the postings about her & her company (though I doubt they will!) Since these awful websites post anything that is sent to them without verifying the truthfulness of the accusations, many people & companies are needlessly damaged. I, for one, hope that Carol Rone is able to collect every dollar of the million dollars awarded her for what she has had to go through for almost two years. I'm glad someone had the guts to stand up for themselves & not just fold when some disgruntled jerk thinks he can publish falsehoods. Good for you, Carol!

Due to the threat of being sued for voicing our outrage with an Estate Sale for my brother that went wrong during his terminal illness, we want to make clear that any statments previously posted were our opinion of the facts. We will let a third party court room determine if our position in this matter is just. We will allow the facts to speak for themselves.
Silver Lining Estates did not perform the task as agreed. They have cost us thousands of dollars in losses and unnessary pain and anguish during a time that is already difficult.
We will update this rip off at the conclusion of the findings.
