I was going through Society Hill, SC. Speed limit decreases suddenly and there are poor signs. Speed limit decreases more than once. Local police are looking for out of state drivers. I got a peeding ticket but, on the day listed, my wife had an important doctor's appointment. I tried calling no less than 12 times. No one will answer or the mail box is full. I even sent a fax asking for a new date. No response, but they went ahead with the date and assesses a fine. I tried to get another date to contest the ticket. They will not respond. Finally, I gave up and sent in a money order. Five months later, they have still not pulled the listing saying that I have an unsatisfied out of state fine and my home state still will not pull the suspension on my license. Purely a money making scheme. Nothing to do with publis safety.
