I purchased my Sony DSC-P92 less than a year ago. When I called Sony today I was informed that my warranty only covers replacement parts, but in order to get those parts I need to have my Camera serviced at an Authorized Service Center for a cost of $139.00 (More then the camera is worth at this point).

When I informed them that this is against the Maine Consumer Protection Law, the customer relations specialist chuckled at me and told me I was wrong, even though he has never read the law. Then he procedeeded to be rude and tell me I didn't know how to read! At last he said that he would forward this to Sony's legal department. I asked him when I could expect to hear back from them and he replied "They will contact you at their convienience" What a jerk!
