The Hampton County Electric personnel on Maple Street in Hampton refuse to work with the elderly in paying their electric bill. These workers force customers to purchase a plan that is expensive and refuse to let some customers make arrangement to pay expensive charges for services. I have cut back on electrical usage and my bill continues to soar for some unknown reason. When Iquestion them about the charges they are very rude and threaten to disconnect my services. When I purchase the payment plan which is $190.00 plus the electric bill they tell me I'm inelgible to make payment arrangements. When paying off the bill and discontinuing the plan they also tell me that I can not make payment arrangement and would have to purchase another plan. This is indeed a rip off. The workers also insist that my total house is electric and I heat onlyb with electricity and that is a lie because I have gas. My God when will these people be stopped! I can barely buy food because my electric bill is extremely expensive and for no logical reason. There has got to be a solution to this problem. I'm forced to either purchase an expensive plan or be in the dark. Help me Please!
