Don't buy a car from South Towne GMC in Newnan, Ga.

I recently went there to buy a car. I agreed on a deal with the salesman to buy a car at 0% for 72months at $458 per month. Previous deals had fallen through because they were low balling my trade in which was a 2003 Tiburon sports car by Hyundai.

Anyway they tried to get me on what they wanted and not what I wanted. I said ,I will take the 72 months at 0% for $458 per month WITH GAP INSURANCE on a GMC Sierra no money down.I did the paper work lock in on the deal. A few days later the sales guy called me and said I have to come back beacuse he has good news.

I was approved and need to sign new paper work. I said I thought I was good with my paper work and already approved. He said he is not sure what the deal is, could be anything. But I must do the paper work, because the deal ends in september 30. I said I am already locked in before the 30days.

So I went down to the dealership . I had to wait a little. Finally after complaining I had to go to work. I went to see another finance guy. I had already seen another guy which had done the original paper workover the weekend. He then told me I could not get the vehicle for 0% and 72 months, no money down. without putting down $1250 with 3.9% $440 a month or agree to 72months $492 no Gap.

They got me in the vehicle. I drove it home thinking my deal was good and it was only a matter of waitng for the paper to process. They thought I would be so tied to the vehicle because have driving it for a few days and would love it so much that I would take any deal they have so as to not lose the vehicle. They were wrong. I walked away from their bad deal and told them I would return their vehicle and pick up my old car. The sales man was still trying to keep me in a deal at $469 per month I did not think about doing any futher deals with them by,I felt disrespected. The bad thing thing is I am a law enforcement officer and they tried to still run a bad deal by me. Slight of hand tactics. I WILL MAKE SURE NOT TO RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS DEALER AT SOUTH TOWNE GMC Newnan. THEY ARE NO GOOD AND VERY DECEPTIVE IN THEIR SALES PRATICE.

Car dealers don't care if you're a cop, handicapped, deaf, old, young, tall, short - they will screw anyone, anyway they can for as much as they can. They euphemistically call it 'out negotiating' you but it is really scamming and cheating. I am glad you had enough sense to walk away. In reading other Ripoffreports I can't believe people put up with what car dealers dish out.
