I canceled an order a few hours after placing the initial order with Sportsman Guide and I was assured that my order was canceled and my card wouldn't be charged.  They still charged my card causing my account to receive insufficent funds fee's (I only put $ in that account before I order online products for security).  When I called the customer service they said the notes in my account said that I called the same day I placed my order wanting to know where the order was and that I said I'd wait one more day for the order to arrive and call back.  I expect good customer service, but I don't expect to receive my order the same day I order from a mail order catalog.

When I received a call from my bank advising me of an overdraft on that account I called the customer service department at Sportsman Guide.  I was connected to a female in the credit department that was so rude it made me sick.  She accused me of lying and said I was just trying to make money off them and to fax my bank statement to them, but they still weren't going to pay it.  She said I was broke and just trying to make money off them.  She was partially right, I'm almost broke (not completely), but I'm not trying to make $30 off them.  I couldn't believe the way she talked to me and didn't even have the courtsey to say goodbye.  She just hung up after I said that I wasn't going to let them do this and I'd take it to small claims court if I had to.  She basically hung up on me.

Don't do business with a company like this.  There are too many reputable companies out there to give our money to.  I did talk to a few others reps that were professional, but had no authority to resolve anything.  I've done business with this company for over 15 years, but not any longer.  I still have to take the time to ship the package back to them and I don't feel confident that they will credit my card for the item they shipped but we'll see.

If you decide to order from this company then do yourself a favor and check the shipping cost (high shipping) before you order and also check eBay for the same item. There are eBay sellers that buy the same overstock that Sportsman's Guide buys, but eBayer's sell it for up to 75% less than Sportsman Guide.
